FOR SALE DUAL 701
and Pickering V15 cartridge with an original Pickering elliptical stylus
I bought this 3 years ago (from Montesque on AOS at the time) with the intention of building a direct drive deck along the lines of Lenco builds by transplanting the amazing EDS DD motor and platter.
It never happened but remains an intriguing proposition.

As the deck stands it remains Dual’s top of the line model on its release, and hides some high-end technology underneath its conventional-looking exterior. The tonearm is surprisingly capable too.
The deck is fitted a Pickering V15 mm cartridge on it, this has an original Pickering elliptical stylus on it, (which itself is somewhat rare)
The lid is complete (very few marks or scratches) though there is a small crack on the back that doesn’t seem to affect it in normal use.
I have unpacked the deck and it works perfectly and indeed sounds rather good.
The Dual comes with the original box and a clutch of paperwork including the original manual. I hate shipping turntables though so this is collection only from Nantwich ( if within reasonable driving distance I will del for fuel costs.)
