There doesn’t seem to be too much on the internet about the the 2022 Audio Show. Did anyone go?

Joe Hart did a sterling job with all those pics. Mind you his comments remind me why I stopped going to shows years ago. Shame that the expectation of seeing and hearing stuff you might only see in the mags is dashed by the limitations of the venues.
The NVA amp at £3,600 is an example of why I got into DIYaudio years ago.

last trade show i went to almost everyone was getting a decent sound which has never been the case before. I wonder if all the forum commentary has spurred them on to sort themselves out? Previous years the sound has been embarrassingly bad in a number of rooms, despite the crazy price tags. I don't go for the excuse that it sounds bad because they're in an hotel room and the mains are 'dirty' or some such nonsense. If that were true they'd all sound bad.

last trade show i went to almost everyone was getting a decent sound which has never been the case before. I wonder if all the forum commentary has spurred them on to sort themselves out? Previous years the sound has been embarrassingly bad in a number of rooms, despite the crazy price tags. Having done quite a few now with Nick, in some places the rooms are dire and it's really difficult to get a half decent sound. We found room treatment to really help.
Don't know what the others do, but we go to great lengths to get the best sound we can.

It's been a while since i attended such a show, though i always enjoy them when i do. With not attending them very often i find them more of a treat. I must make an effort in 2023.

Needs closer to civilisation and free entry too, don't mind paying for the WAM show (reminds me I owe Steve a tenner) but this is trade, so you're basically paying for the privilege of being sold to. If the NW show can be free I don't see why this one isn't? Same organisers.

The sticks - Everywhere else.
If we including Scotland then I'll throw in Glasgow and maybe Edinburgh at a push.

No you don't. With stuff like this you're better company than Mrs. P, who barely tolerates it and can't get away fast enough. Though if you insist you can pay for the next one :D

nope they are the sticks too. Been to Exeter many times, used to have a girlfriend who lived there. Lovely part of the world but it's properly out in the sticks.
Count yourself lucky. I would not want to go back to living in a big city, but they are the easiest places to get to from the sticks so best place to have a show IMO.
haven't been in a city for years; (ghastly places), and i mean years. last time was at the hospital in edinburgh taking someone in or out and that is just technically in city but really on outskirts. that was at least 10 yrs ago.
edit well the dealer for my car is technically edinburgh too but again in outskirts.

yes feel so very sorry for the guys at ascot who set up a show with massive speakers and kit only to have it cancelled hours before due to open due to events we all know about !!

The key words in that statement will have been 'specifically dedicated'. Did the Hi-Fi News Hi-Fi Show Live not include components at the mid-fi and budget end?
