Some of you might remember a few months ago when my dog Ted was killed in an accident. Today, his sister Olive gave birth (on my bed, while I was in it) to four healthy puppies. She is a Jack Russell/Norfolk Terrier cross and the father is a red Lakeland Terrier. I shall be keeping the one dog pup, to be called Stanley.

Congrats - is that a coincidence or in honour of an esteemed DAC manufacturer who frequents these pages?! :eyebrows: Plenty of energy in a little package - so I can see the resemblance! (to the DACs that is! ;))

Pure coincidence! He was to be called Sidney, but I changed my mind. I think Terriers should have old-fashioned names :)

Must have been a shock to wake up and find that little lot at the bottom of the bed.

Not entirely, since she was in the bed. I woke to find the bed linen rather damp and Olive's parts looking rather like a closed sea anemone - a dark and shiny blob was peeking out. I left her to it and made a cup of tea; half an hour later the first puppy had arrived and was already licked clean and she was in the process of munching her way through the umbilical cord and placenta - nice. By the time she'd delivered the remaining puppies, the bed did look as though someone had been slaughtering goats on it! I can attest to the effectiveness of Persil Bio tablets in getting rid of bloody stains!

A face shot of Stanley. Eyes should open in a day or so.

Here is Stanley at just over 3 months old:

He moved, but I do quite like the soft focus look! My new Pentax K-x is way better for dog phots than the Fuji compact.

I have never had a dog but your photos are interesting Hugo ;) Had a few cats, but not the same obviously.
The difference between Stanley as a pup with his eyes closed & the new picture is pretty astounding  You (well lets say i) wouldn't have known it was the same dog :eyebrows:
Nice pictures btw :)

No, they don't, but I am wondering whether I can fit a dog-wheel in somewhere to generate some power!
