I am selling my QUAD 2805s for £500. One of them works perfectly, but the other has a fault. I bought them in November 2019, serviced the previous month by One Thing Audio. I discovered they aren't ideal in my room as I can only get them about 60cm out from the front wall, and they need at least a metre. They sound good apart from that, close but no cigar.
However, one of them has low output above about 800Hz, and I just don't have the energy or inclination to fix them. An expert on diyAudio suggested diodes, but they all check out OK, so the next suggestion was one of the coils. It could even be one of my solder joints failing from when I had a panel repaired under warranty by OTA.
I have already replaced them with Tannoys, and they are just in the way now. I made shipping boxes for them and have a pallet they would fit onto; if you top and tail the boxes they make a single package of 120cm x 80cm wide and 75cm deep, which would fit in the back of my Peugeot Bippa or a similar sized car/van.
Here is a screen shot from REW; the bass looks elevated but really it's the HF which is down, as I used an amp with a balance control set at +9dB to level the HF reading. As you can see, the other speaker is fine. I didn't smooth the graph very much.

They are visually in very good condition, just a small scuff on one of the grille cloths, which I only notice in direct sunlight. I also covered the silver side pieces in satin black vinyl wrap, as I think that looks better. Easy to remove. I also have a spare dustcover and its frame.

One of the boxes, shaped (and it will be padded with foam).

I could deliver within a reasonable distance, or you can collect them, or arrange for a pallet collection I have the pallet, but it would cost over £100 I think. I am in Plymouth.
So sold as spares or repair for £500. It would be worth paying to have them fixed by OTA, but I just can't be bothered anymore!
