Yeah once, when motorcycling through Europe. We camped for a week on a site with no trees In Empuriabrava on the Costa Brava. Camped there for a week, which felt like two. Never again :(

And another time we found ourselves in Santa Susanna Also Southern Spain, got to the campsite and thought nah, we got in a nearby hotel instead.

Also Glastonbury 1992 was about that temp, and nowhere near enough trees to shade 150,000 sweaty bodies. Still at least it didn't rain.

Been sunny and warm here all week. Got a few days off next week so of course it's going to be raining.

 Holidays already? You've not been there 5 minutes.

I was relieved to find that my BBC weather app was wrong (as it often is). Rather than a wet and windy weekend, just the odd bit of rain and plenty of sunshine. No wind, and more importantly no mud!

So all in all, a good camping weekend. All the gear worked as it should including the giant (borrowed) tent. Big enough to stand up in, which is nice as Mrs. P is past trying to get dressed led down.

And plenty of decent live music too :)

Well that was a brief visit. The nice weather brought buyers out in droves, but the sellers seem to have left all the good stuff at home. Got no CDs, just a nice vinyl copy of this for 3 quid. Bargain I think, though I haven't played it yet.

Similar here, maybe a bit cooler. Thinking about getting some curtains for the lounge and dining room, to replace or add to the vertical blinds. Should help with the heating this winter, and maybe provide some 'room treatment' acoustically.

Our's is not on either - but as we will be having house guests staying for the next four days, we will probably have to turn the thermostat up.

Do dogs really only see in black and white? I thought that was just one of those myths, like when my mum used to tell me that picking dandelions would make me pee in bed.

Does that help? I would have thought the higher humidity combined with colder temperatures would aggravate arthritis.

I see your orange fleecy 'Throw' there, we just got a couple of them, but my feet poke out of the bottom. Not quite long enough. Mrs. P is thinking about getting these for us, we'll look a couple of bonny buggers sat watching telly in these. BTW that's not Mrs. P modelling it.

When the relative humidity of the air is high, meaning the air has a high moisture content, your sweat evaporation process slows down. The result? It feels hotter to you. its a juggle to get temp and humidity right. cenrtal heating screws it up too. also some humidity is good at keeping my airways clear as my nose blocks all time. ive added 3% so far

ps, only way you'd get me in one of those is if i was in it with her:eyebrows:

Good idea that. I've got an Israeli army issue 'mummy' style bag somewhere. 5 season and goes up over the head so you are totally encased. Might dig that out and put it to use. Seems to be getting a bit colder every day at the moment. Sunny here right now but there's still a chill.

Got my double size one over me now using it as a thick blanket. Does the job, the house is cold but I'm not.

I'll warm up once I've walked the dog, doing something active outside for a while makes me feel the cold less once I get back indoors.

The cold never used to bother me, but the meds I'm on make me feel the chill unless I'm busy.

About 19C indoors now, I don't need it warmer. Sooner that than the crazy summer heat!

I'm in the wrong country I think. The Azores seems suited to me, cheap residential costs and lowish cost of living, decent health care, temperature between 20C and 30C generally. English is a spoken language there and there's a good ex-pat community. Rains a fair bit, but that wouldn't bother me.

Apparently 18-19 C here now - though I need to check. Dull, and will probably continue that way, but no rain. It has been cold the last few days, and that brought attention to problems with our heating system, but hopefully that has been fixed - at least temporarily. It seems that our heating system is pressurised, and sometimes loses pressure, which causes the pump to become ineffective. Now that I've learned how to repressurise the system, heat has returned, though there may be a need to deal with the part of the system which keeps the pressure up.

I'm reluctant to do anything much with the heating system - which is oil based - as ideally I think we'd like to replace it with a heat pump system - but apart from the evalation of the relative merits - just finding any one competent and able to do the required work before winter really sets in seems hard. A few weeks ago I was told that installation slots were not available until November at the earliest. So I guess we'll just have to struggle on with the boiler for another winter and hopefully replace with a heat pump system next year.

The cold weather and lack of sun came as a bit of a shock after a trip to Italy, where it was both very sunny and really rather hot.

A cool 5C outside, doesn't feel colder than yesterday even though it is. 16C indoors, I've said the heating won't be used until 1st Oct and then only for half an hour in the morning and again late afternoon. We'll see how it goes.

Reminds me of the days before central heating, folks were used to it!

Not bad today temperature-wise. But more relevant I think lately is the unheated in-house temperature, which at the moment is 18.5C. I can put up with that but 15C is about as low as we'll tolerate.

9C, misty and murky outside. 16C indoors, doesn't feel unbearable and we'll start using the heating sparingly from tomorrow.

I was outside in that bloody rain for four hours, on top of a ladder for much of it :( Nice to get home early and get into something dry. Indoor temperature dropped to 15C at 3pm, so put the heating on for a couple of hours, with 'stat set to 18C. Feels tropical in here :)

21+ indoors here. heating is set now to 19c but hasnt been on much today. good insulation does help and occasional burst from the heating too. only use about 35p in gas + the daily of course.

got the car on charge up to 100% today last cheap charge before price goes up. that will cost a few quid tho.

Fog again this morning and when that cleared started with rain. Now it's blowing a gale and raining too.

I should have added that I have been away from home, so the thermostat was set to 18C to keep out the chill. Now set the 'stat to 22C and the house is warming up nicely.

Submitted my meter readings to take advantage of the old rates before they go up tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing the road pond.

They've improved the drainage a bit. It still flloods with heavy rain but it disappears a lot quicker now.

Weekend is forecast to be dry so think you will be disappointed again.
