View Full Version : Whittlebury hall show
Any one going. Heard good reports of last year but no one has mentioned it so far.
Hi Colin,
It's been mentioned here:

:)
Marco.
Thanks Marco. That would have been the lost weekend of my birthday.
Lol - no worries. As you can see, a few folk will be going to Whittlebury :)
Marco.
Even if some of set ups go way over my head its worth it for the record stalls:)

i would love to attend an event like this to hear other systems so i can get a benchmark of where my system is and how i can improve it.
Im away to france the 24th for ten days so will have to miss this one.
Most shows ive been to are of the What hi fi/stuff type. Only been to one pure Hi Fi event and it can be exciting seeing equipment in the flesh that you would only normally see in a magazine. A few surprises to when you hear 15 grands worth of kit sounding awful.
Most of the kit you only see in magazines sells in finger-of-one-hand numbers in the UK, so is largely irrelevant in the scheme of things when so much great vintage stuff is available - IMO.

so is this Whittlebury hall show for different company's showing off their new kit,
or people bringing their own?
I much prefer the latter so i could hear the vintage against the new or hear equipment that doesn't get mentioned in the hi fi mags.

Whittlebury Hall show is for traders, importers, manufacturers, dealers to show off their wares.
If you want a show where people bring their own, then look no further than the London Bake-Off Show, which now has a website (being populated and updated) at http://londonbakeoffshow2010.110mb.com/index.php . There are themed rooms off a central foyer where you can bring along whatever you like and give it a go - in other words a Big Bake-Off! I'm in the Mains and Cables room. I'm hoping to arrange for some space allocated for anyone to bring their own "Audiojumble" stuff to sell too.

i`ve had this show booked on my roster for months , very enjoyable show . i`m going sat
Last year was OK but some room was really poor (accustic problem I guessed), let hope we will see some more room treatment this year.
I will be there on Sunday. A dealer is going to show me a new SystemDeck 3D, can't wait.
Sounds interesting, would be a first for me! Where is this Whittlebury Hall?
