Better display today, Steve Davis running the show
better performance although still lax at putting it in the pokey considering chances. 2-0 win tho and colak scores to keep folk off his back(dunno why, its not been his fault for most part)... also alfie back as sub and scores too, to show he aint forgot...

who's that?? the hibbees :ner:
think they will do well in prem again. plenty firepower. how they will do in europe against decent sides is another thing. their defence and style is open to losing goals

think at moment up here it a bit like pro am... rangers, city and celtic seem to be the pros..
Was thinking about the referee great Tiny Wharton... great stories aroung him...
In a particularly tense game, during which Wharton arrived in the penalty area just in time to see the ball go out of play. He awarded a corner-kick, prompting protests from defenders that it ought to be a goal-kick.
“I’ve just sprinted 50 yards to follow play,” he told them. “If you think I’m now going to sprint back another 50 yards to take up position for a goal-kick you’re off your head.” :D
and guess what... no-one argued with the big man...

McGregor made several top saves, so could have been a lot worse, totally outplayed in the first half. Napoli are looking very good.

yes and we held our own with them up to a point... liverpool are a top side and we did ok overall. it could have been a lot worse. whether folk like it or not, we are out of our league, quite naturally as we just cant compete on finances. but that doesnt mean a great performance couldnt find us a win somewhere.
would be nice to score a goal tho lol
Marco's team got cuffed too v Leipzig.. a decent side but beatable... just shows the overall gulf.

Watched the second half, thought Saints had managed a draw, they were playing well towards the end.
well mugged in second half alas.. 2 injuries to key players didnt help but even then, the gulf in class and desire was evident. how they respont will define their season and perhaps careers

Well that was a disgrace, both from players and manager.
Giov needs to go but can we afford it?

it was a new low, but quite frankly all the displays of late have been extremely poor. i cant remember the last time i could say they came off and should be proud of themselves.
also the medical dept has lost the plot. never seen so many long term injuries.

yes that was gio too.. he had a dislike and chased him out; dunno why but i always thought him 'good enough' in principle... inclined to blame the Parks. they have got very grabby im told..
well season is now officially over... disgraceful performance again; manager is adament he isnt quitting(wants his payday more than his self respect i guess) morelos, kent, tillman, sands, mcgreggor, roofe, arfield, davis, jack and helander should all be off with gio and his team.
none of them worth a ****

i think he really needs to go tomorrow morning. if not tonight. he has never inspired confidence, and blew league last season too. the euro run was good but it wasnt pretty tbh. we are obviously not training them right as the injury list proves, and there is obviously little motivation. i'd go as far as to say he lost the dressingroom weeks ago
so a home game tonight v upwardly hearts.. see if they can try and do anything worthy.

Another steller fail to even try until it's about over. Salvaged a point and picked up another bad looking injury .
Players obviously want him gone and are showing it imo. Their attitude stinks almost as much as gio,s does.

gers mates are all in agreement re the management team being useless lol. (that was the polite view) i dont blame the 2 ch's. both young and one not really a ch... in fact not sure king is either. kamara again subbed(what did gio do to him) alf should not play again... we have not much in the forward side.. thought kent played fairly well and was only real plus.
so a big rest now for world cup... thankfully, as i cant take much more

sure some are folk calling in hurt cause they were pissed off too, but majority have been likely caused by the pitch i think. whether it cuts up or not a full grass pitch is what should be used. they should never have lowered it so much either.

Yeah the keeper at fault for the first goal, time for one of the others to step up. Really poor display last night, Tav, Tillman, Alf and most of the others were shite, the other team will murder us in a couple of weeks time if there’s not changes. Kent had a decent first half but they moved him to wing in the second nowhere near as good.

i didnt even realise we were playing until i woke to scoreline and to super late goals lol. gers have 3 keepers. mcglaughlin isnt good enough. shags is passed his prime and mccrorie cant be much cop if he cant get in front of either. rangers have always had a great keeper when they have been top dogs... we need to splash some cash on one.

A lot more competition for places especially in midfield is helping, expecting a big clear out in the summer

Got it, Grant. Apologies.
Misjudged on my part, it was meant to be a bit of teasing.
I was brought up not far from the club ground, and to be a supporter back in the days of John Grieg and Sandy Jardine. Family "tradition".
I have gotten disillusioned by the way the club has gone, especially the demotion/financial scandal and since. Guess that came out in my comment. Apologies again.

Really poor first half display, and the manager acknowledged he picked the wrong team but still in the cup

It was a strange game, as the first half was being played, it was only a matter of time before Celtic scored as they were in control, Rangers had opportunities, but Fashion Jr’s decision making was terrible unlike the Celtic wide players, as was stated by Gordon Strachan Celtic were looking at lot fitter as the first half wore on. After the substitutions things improved from a Rangers point of view but as they chased the game, lots of chances were created thankfully they had already taken off the boy who scored the 2 goals plus the Rangers keeper made several great saves.

i dont realy watch games at all now but yes celtics' attitude is best form of defence is attack. it works well most of time, but with really good sides can come unstuck. their asians are all good buys and a breath of fresh air in game.

That tactic makes for entertaining fitba', but as you rightly say can get unstuck, but not just with better teams- many teams can become complacent and fall victim to "giant killers", like Darvel or my own dear Killie on past occasions (fewer now).

yeah season is pretty much over bar S Cup, and lately we have just not been quite good enough..(we in a gers sense).
Beale hopefully will get a chance to add his own stamp to what will be left of squad in summer, although celtic will also strengthen no doubt.
Financially gers cant compete with then at moment so we need to be pulling quality out of Achendowie something that has stalled of late, ad most of ones that did come through either failed the grade, were sold or just left/kicked out. It can be difficult to keep kids' feet on ground and stop them getting swell heads nowadays.
We do have a lot of decent quality in youths/b team but we also struggle as a fanbase to let them learn by errors and shout for their heads after 1 or 2 bad games.. Same can happen with the seniors.

Sometimes things need to get worse before they get better.
Look back to the recent past, well it is to me, in the early 90s when Rangers were triumphant and Celtic were a shambles...
I am trying to take an objective view here.
Celtic dragged themselves out if the mire.
Rangers aren't in the mire, but they can move up a gear again like they did it after the, er, financial hiccup.
Players need to be motivated by more than money. Fight for the shirt to put on, and fight for it wearing it! It's not a matter of life and death... etc.

Was he pushed or did he jump? Who's pulling the strings behind the scenes? Not good for Scottish fitba' to have a weak Rangers, or to have it dominated by the Old Firm. The gulf between them and the rest is far too big to be healthy. At the risk of sounding every one of my 60 years old, I am sure I remember when the two Edinburgh sides, whatever their names are, plus Aberdeen, were contenders too.

The last couple of games have been so disappointing, due to errors, but the best in the league by a mile are Celtic. When i was young my dad would take me to watch Rangers or Morton , which ever team was at home. Until I was about 30 , Greenock Morton was my team but if you are from the west of Scotland you must support one of the Old Firm, however when I returned home in the mid 80’s, things changed, Souness arrived the football improved etc., watching Morton was painful. For the avoidance of doubt I hate the bigotry and will have no part of it, both teams are guilty of allowing this nonsense to continue.
I love the rivalry but hate all the nonsense that surrounds it.

Glad Beale has finally seen sense and played young mccrorie. He may not be the complete answer but he is better than McLaughlin, who is just relatively safe but no great shakes, and greegs who was just about past it last season far less this.
They need also to get to bottom of all the injuries. I think it's the surfaces they play and train on which I think are new and the medical and performance teams not doing job.

Can't blame him tbh. He did a lot better than most thought. Decent bloke.
Sure they will try and replace with someone similar

Dont blame him at all, will probably triple his salary, if he takes the coaches with him we see the return of Brown

Apparently he’s keen to take Kennedy with him, could be an interesting couple of days.

kennedy may not feel he is ready yet and go then... he has been one of the guys at parkheid that has been untouchable for board.. lots of managers still available for them to choose but many will maybe want to wait and see if an epl job appears. some talk re rodgers again; think he would be mad to go back.

Dont see Rodgers going back, Celtic do have a history of picking managers that not many have heard of.

just reading there rodgers isnt interested.. they are all greetin' about him being illegally approached and only recently saying he was 'all in it' etc.. off to japan etc:eyebrows:
its just the way it goes.. folk look after themselves and family first. he has won 5 out of 6 but struggled badly in europe;; he also may just have a tough time doing it again next year, so when he gets offered a chance to manage a top 6 team in epl as a rehearsal for the city job, which i best he wants, its no competition.
gerard did it to us
