Fuse

Evening all, I have a house alarm and the box with the battery and all the wiring gubbins is in my bedroom cupboard, I noticed the other day it was very warm almost hot to the touch.i installed a new battery but it remained very warm so I checked the fuse, the shiny ends were discoloured, a mix of brown white discoloration, so I replaced it, had the fuse blown or had it just come to the end of its life? Should have kept it to post a pic:doh: alarm box is now at room temperature :)

well it may or may not be 'buggered' a good clean and it may or may not be ok. unless its an expensive fuse(unlikely) i would discard it. i could be partial o/c inside too and thus causing heat to form

I binned the old fuse Grant and popped in a new one, no more hot alarm box :)

good its working better.. just keep an eye on it for a few days...

Yep, it needs a service as the keypad is a bit worn out, but getting someone out is a proving difficult at mo
