Not bad, but not really my thing.

Will give it another listen later.

Pretty good that, she knows how to belt out a tune. And she's not too shabby either, she could easily carry you home from the pub with those legs. Will this be your first CD purchase by an artist from this century? :D

Just read up a bit on them - the singer , who happens to be called Kira Mac is from Stoke, they have a live date in Stoke 25th November, and their debut album in the autumn. Not normally my thing either, but I did like that.

I work with her mother. She was going on about her being the next best thing to sliced bread but I was taking it with a pinch of salt because mothers.

But she really is very good, I think she might be the best female rock vocalist I ever heard. The music is my sort of thing too.

So will you be blagging free tickets for the Stoke gig? Don't tell her what I said about her daughter's legs.

I might do. And I might do.

She is good. Not keen on phony American accents though.

The best female rocker is Patti Smith in my opinion (no, I'm not a Joplin fan).

No complaint about either of them. :eyebrows:

Listened to it again, and I do like it. I would be interested in hearing more of her; I don't find the "phony" American accent annoying.

Apropos her looks - sorry, I'm afraid I have real dislike of facial piercings (and tattoos), so I wouldn't want to see her perform 'live' (not that I'm likely to do).

Patti Smith only did one good album though.

Admit it Barry, she's gorgeous! :D

Wow - she can certainly 'belt it out'. Think I need to do some more research. :)

Hmm. The fake vibrato is an affectation I've always found annoying since American soul singers adopted it generations ago, it's standard karaoke fare now! Natural vibrato is another thing entirely and often heard from opera singers.

Barry

Know what you mean, but with Kira Mac's voice I didn't find the vibrato grating.

Me neither. What irritates is American female singers' tendency to 'warble". Mariah Carey is the worst for doing this_ just listen to her murdering Nilsson's "Without You", singing five notes per word :(

The worst thing is when they sing the national anthem at big events and they seem to spend about 30 seconds warbling every other word.

And you get them limply pointing at nothing in particular, moving their finger up and down to track the warble :steam:

Ugh, that woman is all kinds of wrong, and you could drive a bus through that cleavage. Which I suppose is a distraction from that Godawful racket.
