Damaged Mail Order Goods

Over the last couple of weeks i've ordered around 18 DVD box sets from a certain massive entertainment mail order company, to my horror all have arrived in simple jiffy bags & all have gotten damaged! this is totally unaceptable & will no doubt continue throught out many orders..Has anyone else encountered this? I will no longer entertain this & pay the extra if need be from elsewhere..

I had a pair of Golden Dragon 845b's ruined by the PO.Someone bought them from me and I sent them in the same packaging they had arrived in from China,in perfect condition.They arrived at the other end having been so violently shaken that the anode structures were dislodged,rendering the valves useless.There was no damage to the packaging,or to the glass of the valves,so they refused to admit liability,leaving me £180 out of pocket.

What I don't understand is how they managed this.Even if I picked an 845 up myself and shook it as hard as I could,I doubt it would do the valve any harm.

You can't get enough G by shaking, i should imagine that a PO lorry or van had a bit of a smash & stopped rather suddenly :doh:

Think about it, it's got to happen as they aren't immune from accidents ;) Either that or you have the lads at the sorting office kicking stuff about like footballs. NEVER label stuff as fragile as this gets picked on as i have reliably heard :eek:

They were very well protected,and as I said,there was no damage to the packaging or indeed the outside of the valves themselves,so it's a puzzle how they managed it.

I have said this many times before, but if you are going to send a parcel via courier, you have to assume that said courier will try to destroy it by many different means. I have seen first hand almost every day at the office where I work, delivery drivers 'dropping' parcels onto the floor after taking them from the van, and then flinging parcels they are picking up into the van from a distance. assume the worst, that they will play football with it, drop it from a great height and otherwise attempt to destroy it and then pack it accordingly. I have learnt this lesson from bitter experience.

Slight misunderstanding of the situation . My problem is said DVD box sets are posted out in a simple Jiffy bag. Is unacceptable causing damage time & time again no matter how many replacements they send.

I understand what you are saying Andre, i assume the edges of the outer slipcase get all bent up & you get some white patches of the card itself showing through?

It'll happen every time unless they cover the things with a few more layers of card & then into a jiffy :rolleyes: Better still box them & surround with bubblewrap.

Frankly i don't think they give a crap at the end of the day :mental:

Most of the CDs arrive perfectly from UK, only on one occaision have I had trouble and that was when Sydney airport was flooded by torrential rain, the inner booklet was soaked and it was signed by the artist - limited edition 500 only, luckily I contacted Racket Records with a photo and they got the Artists to sign another as they had all sold.
