They’re meant to sit on these but how the hell you’re meant to do is beyond me https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220708/c1d46ea06879c98d59e9de4cc0c3481f.jpg

no i didnt think they were but they made cabs with the short tops and sides that went higher. quite rare tbh. ferguson did some, and the company that made the 1/2 wave speakers.. but they were fairly rare.. more like 50/60's in style, so maybe a very small company at time

Getting hot mate, if I show you the drivers you’ll likely know immediately , as the seller didn’t know what they were I had to do some research before I found out .

Size wise they look like Cambridge R40s but they didn't have the same bases.

That’s what I thought they were Lawrence .
I have another similar smaller pair too but we’ll get to them once I recover from lifting these things from the van

IMF was my first thought but that's too obvious.

I had hoped they were imf’s initially, I don’t know how these would stack up against the biggest imf’s .

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkLook like Kefkit 3 drivers (but not the baffle) so maybe Kef Constructor series drivers in a DIY cabinet. The B139s were designed to be ported is there one at the back? Not sure how they'd behave in an infinite baffle enclosure.

I have heard them - Scalford show 2012. Run off of a Nakamichi Dragon tape deck, forget what the amp was but one of the best sounds of the show.

Owner was an elderly gent, the tapes were copies he'd made off his Linn LP12.

You got a good one there.

Might have been the gentleman that owned these , recently deceased [emoji20]

I agree, did they have any kind of name or numbers for the kits ?

The Atkinsons sound very nice and very efficient

There was Kit 1, 2 and 3 I think, but it's really before my time. A friend had a set he'd got off his dad, this is thirty years ago now. They were pretty good too.

Trouble is the wife is away for the weekend and hasn’t seen them yet ! They do take over the room a bit [emoji1787]

I’ve never heard anything like them , string sections sending a shiver down my neck , and the bass is to die for .
Speaker heaven ( apart from their looks and size )

Well the wife FaceTimed me last night and when I showed them to her she was having none of it [emoji20], can’t say I blame her as they’re not the most attractive or inconspicuous. So they’re now upstairs in the little box room ! Definitely not suitable placement.
