View Full Version : Speaker cables at about £60 per metre
Can I have recommendations please.
My main requirements are transparency, musicality, relaxation and sound stage.
Forget hard hitting frequency extremes, graininess and fatigue.
I am tending towards pure copper
Strong Recommend for Morrow Audio cable.
Exactly the attributes your wanting.
Have their SP7 cable,
but had ones elsewhere in the range that show the same sound signature too.

Get hold of CCC or TripleC cables, you'll never want anything else.
I have OCC cables and they are a very good second place.
CCC - really?

Not that type of CCC Barry.
PC- Triple C is probably the more accurate description. Here is a typical ad:

I think you're right Lawrence. Its a process that draws molten copper through a small orifice where it cools and solidifies into a wire. The single copper crystal that forms at the start of the process then propagates throughout the length of the cable to give a single copper crystal over the entire length.
This eradicates a multi crystalline structure where every crystal interface is an obstacle to smooth electron flow. Can't remember what it was call back in the day - perhaps OHNO??

Just bought a 2m pair of SP4 on e bay. Second hand so fully run in.:)

Morrow cables are a PAIN during run-in, more than any other cable I've had. Interconnects, speaker cables and digital cables, all similar construction and all the same long burn in.
So its definitely a real thing you need to get past with them,
good you don't have that to get through!
Good review here of the SP4

Bad news, the shop that sold me the cable on E bay has lost it, possibly stolen!
There are very few used Morrow cables in the UK but they have offered to make me a chord cable of my preference. I have been impressed with the Chord Clearway cable I have used in the past and would be happy with more but better of the same flavour. Any recommendation?
what length do you need, I've got 3 metre bi-wire set of Chord Odyssey 2 - with the Chord gold plated bananas - lying about doing nothing.
Thanks Martin, but I wanted a significant upgrade to the Chord Clearway I have and was focussing on the Chord Epic X
no probs I'm not familiar with the Chord cable hierarchy.
After a bit of discussion, the E bay seller has substituted a new 2m pair of terminated Chord Epic X cables for the same money so I'm pleased with that. Reviews suggest my original requirements should be met.

I ditched my Chord Reference speaker cables for QED Genesis Spirals last year, they have been around a while and not that expensive, got better bass control, a more open sound, resulting in improved soundstage and clearer detail.

Not sold unterminated by the meter (or foot!) but since I got my Acoustic Zen Satori I've not felt the need to change. About £60/m second hand terminated.
Aww MAN. :steam:
Least you got a result at the end.
