12C start this morning, hazy dullness so far.
11c and cloudy at moment but sun promised for pm..
barely a cloud in the sky here. Met says temp is 17C, I doubt it as it's 20C in my living room which is always a few degrees cooler in the summertime than it is outside.
Forecast is rain for this afternoon, we'll see how that pans out. Right now it looks like the least likely thing that could happen.

Well it really pissed down this morning, and we got a right old soaking. Still, that's me done with work now till the 16th. Yay!
There's a street party happening out there this afternoon, but the idea of mingling with neighbours I've never spoken to before and will go back to ignoring after tomorrow, doesn't appeal to me. So I'll stay here and chat shit with you lot instead :)
the Met have abandoned their prediction of rain now. It's a bit hazy but still quite bright here.
sunny now but a cold wind out of sun.. 14c

Nah - we'll all be out partying ourselves! :D

Today was brillliant - first good day in a very long time. No rain - a lot of sun - really quite warm. Went for quite a long drive via Lairg and Ullapool and I believe we heard a cuckoo between Ardross and Ardgay. Really didn't expect that at all. Managed to find a cafe for lunch, and sat out. I expect all the holiday makers clogging the roads up will be thinking "we wish we lived here - beautiful weather, beautiful scenery" etc. They shouldn't ignore the rule that places you go to for holidays may be really c**p outside the holiday season.
That's what I found about San Diego - went in early summer one year - lovely weather. Years later went later in the summer and the weather was really oppressive, but somone who lived there said - "Oh - it's always like this" and he agreed it wasn't nice. Now Monterey is somewhere I could settle!

I was in San Diego end of September and it was fine, sunny, about 25C, couldn't fault it. Nobody on the beaches though, I think they must all stop doing that at the end of August. If it was that weather in the UK you wouldn't be able to find a space to lay a towel out after about ten in the morning.

From memory it's not so good in August. Still warm, but muggy. The point I was trying to make is that people often like places they go to on holiday, and think the weather is always good. It isn't!
Also heat can be a problem. Often it's quite nice on holiday, but places which have a high ambient temperature are not so good if one is trying to work, and people expect air conditioning - which often fails.

So true, and whenever I go abroad for a holiday I always find myself pitying those I see with outdoor jobs - I couldn't stand that, the only thing worse might be working outside in sub-zero temperatures. We probably have it just right in Britain, temperature extremes are quite rare.

MSN weather on my laptop says it's currently 12C and cloudy, though it's hard to see the screen with the sun bouncing off it and making my eyes water. And has been this way for half an hour now. I suppose I could go and sit over there, or close the blinds, but I'm y'know, lazy. MSN Weather is crap.
sunny, 13C, going to be a good day according to the forecast. Tomorrow is wall-to-wall rain though.
up to 13c here too. still sunny so looks like it'll be a good day. all week the early sun has been gone by now

It's like a tropical storm out there now, absolutely lashing it down!
Another beautiful day here in London.
A little rain this morning, but bright and sunny in the afternoon.
Did some shopping in Harlesden, London, visiting my favourite charity shop for good quality and not overpriced classical vinyl and enjoyed the African take on the Jubilee festivities (complete with blasting sound systems and exotic dancers).

Just been down the shop, there's no wind but otherwise it could be February or March. Chilly and heavily overcast.
wasn't a bad day overall but not as nice as was initially forecast. currently 14c still and bright enought still.

16C and sunny. Looks a nice day.
very sunny here, woke me up its that bright.
very overcast and 12c. might brighten a bit later.
So glorious sunshine wakes me up at 0730 then by the time I get up and make a cup of tea it's totally clouded over and then stays like that for the rest of the day. Just takes the piss.
According to the forecast the sun comes back out at 9pm. I mean what use is that to anyone? I wouldn't mind so much if it was still a bit close and humid but there's a cold breeze and it's actually quite chilly. We had warmer days here back in March.
a fair bit brighter here now. quite warm too at 17c. not sunny but its just behind light cloud. a bit of a breeze too.
stopped raining and there was even a brief glimpse of sun so nipped round to the supermarket. Only in their five minutes and when I come out guess what?

Dull - around 13C right now - with some rain expected this afternoon. There is a slight wind, though yesterday the winds were significant, and pushing over (ie. bending them a bit) the newly planted small fruit trees to the extent that I wondered if we should try to move them somewhere less windy. Would be a shame to lose them, though if high winds are going to feature more often, not sure exactly where to put them.
At least the fences have stayed up - something which we often had a problem with in the south of England. We had to replace fence panels and posts really too often in our previous house. Once in a lifetime winds seemed to happen every couple of years there.
i fitted cross members to posts and screwed through panels into those. a couple of braces as well. mine have endured the weather for over 12 yrs and some big storms. if they come loose its worth doing
14C here and cloudy, no sunshine, no balcony either :)
Proper heatwave predicted from Wednesday, highs of 25C, believe it when I see it.
sun has popped out. 14c now.
21.5C all day here. Cut the grass, now settling back with a nice cold beer. :)

Well I got plenty of fresh air and sun today, spent half the day repairing a badly rotted shed door. The power planer and angle grinder covered me in dust, but I'm too knackered for a bath. I'll leave till the morning and launder the bedding as well :).

Coolish right now (14C) and still feels damp. There wasn't supposed to be much rain today, after yesterday which had enough, but there's been a bit anyway. I think it's starting to dry up a bit, but with no sun it's going to take a while.
been some sun here off and on, you get maybe five minutes at a time then more cloud comes over.
Met are still predicting 28C here for Friday, no cloud either, but it will be windy.
Lovely day today, typically the first full day I've spent in the office suited and booted. Had rather got used to not having to bother for 3 years. Forecast for Friday is 31c! Luckily I am working from home, so shorts will be ok! Then typically again, it all turns miserable for the end of the weekend with 16c and rain showers on Sunday, for my son's birthday BBQ... :( Still, a lot can change between now and then...

23C here now, going to be 24C in a bit. Hazy though so you don't get the full force of the sun. Tomorrow still predicted to be scorchio though so maybe it will actually happen.

Yes, I've stayed indoors most of the day keeping the windows shut, as the house is cooler than outside. Kept the dog inside too apart from a couple of brief walks, the intense sun does them no good, causing skin tumours and eye cataracts.
I'll open the windows in a while once it gets cooler and allow some air through for the evening.

76 was a hot one. one of hottest up here ever. i remember actually willing to rain at end:eek:
Our back lawn died completely in '76, although didn't help that we were playing football on it all summer. My mother was very unhappy about it. My father was working overseas at the time and she warned us that he would be even unhappier than she was. In the end I had to dig it all up and re-seed it, which was a pretty big job for a seven year old.
It did grow back pretty well except for a couple of patches where the goal mouths had been. Before my father got back I covered them over with grass clippings so when he looked out the window it would all appear normal and he wouldn't bother going out for a closer inspection. Got away with it too.
I think '77 was also a scorching summer. Everyone who grew up in the 1970s got a false idea of what a British summer should be like I think.
Up to 21C now, going to reach 23C they say which is very rare round these parts. It was only 9C here on Sunday just gone.

No just a best of. It's the only Bowie I have. Always looking for the albums but Bowie fans don't seem to sell their CDs.
That really won't do. I have Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane on both CD and shiny vinyl. So expect a parcel in the coming days (not the vinyl though, not on your nelly).

Sunny and warm here in Portsmouth
At half past midnight? Might have been the moon, that :). Sunny and warm here again this morning - I need to find a baseball cap or something. I was out working in the sun all day yesterday, and this morning I look like a match, a very fat match :(

15C, bright & sunny, gonna be a warm one. Make the most of it, we've had the longest day, winter approaches!

Pretty warm at a touch over 28C. I'm keeping out of the sun, don't like it really.

Hopefully we'll get a dull day shortly, I need to wash the car and doing it in baking sun is a waste of time. Went to the Tesco car wash twice this week, big queues all the time. I'll do a better job than the machine anyway! :)

The nights are drawing in. .... .... OK - but not much yet.
We've still got 4 months before perpetual darkness returns. Make the most of it.

I don't know how I forgot to tell you this, but that style of hat, ie the ones in your link, and also the one you kindly offered to me, well when we were in Looe Cornwall last week I came across some in a shop. I tried one on, and asked for Mrs. P's opinion. Her reply was "Get that off NOW" :( and tried to steer me towards baseball caps. Which would be ok if they didn't make me look like a bell end.
So the search continues, and hopefully I don't get scalp cancer in the meantime.

17C and overcast. According to Accuweather it's supposed to be raining, but it's not! May wash the car later.
was sunny earlier but clouded over now again. 16c tho
already sunny and warm here. The wood pigeons are really going for it too, competing with the cries of the tat man.
Due to cloud over though and rain by teatime. Got a thunderstorm warning too but I'll lay odds that doesn't happen. Still, we can hope. High of 25C. Weekend and next week looking a bit lacklustre though.

Raining now. Hopefully it will stop so I can walk the mutt.
Just been down the shop and it does look like some dark clouds are gathering to the south so maybe we will get a bit of a storm.
Really is baking hot out and the air is hardly stirring.
Almost 23C in my living room, warmest so far this year. Mind it was already 21C in here when I got up at 0700.
up to 20c here but cloudy still. 63% humidity outside. even worse indoors

Been hot and sunny all day, but just started now with some heavy rain. Sky gone really dark.
our rain has been cancelled. Looking at the satellite most of it getting dumped on the Welsh mountains and Lancashire.

Good to see Marco's fart gases are still affecting the climate :) By the time I'd sent my previous post the rain had stopped already.

Been overcast all day here in ‘sunny Portsmouth’. Bit of rain. However I’m still wearing next to nothing :eyebrows: Anything more than 2 pieces of clothing is unnecessary….. I’m trying to bring on the sun

28oC. It's hot but not unbearable, however I did use the car's A/C for the first time this year.
Regarding attire: I needed to visit the bank, so a tie was appropriate! ;)
sun is out now here and temp has rocketed to 22c. as its now shining toward my bedroom its gonna be a warm night i fear

Wouldn't bother me - put Rachel Riley in some bin bags and green wellies and she'd still do for me... put me in your finest Gossard Wonderbra (Hello boys!) and all you have is a fat old tramp who found a bra in a skip. And some worried neighbours.
You can't hide quality :)

I wear carpet slippers around the house, they go great with my 'lounging' mankini :).

Your setting the bar a bit high with Rachel Riley though. I mean she could dress up as Davros off of Doctor Who and she'd still be fit.

19c and bright
16C heavy cloud. This is it until tea time according to the forecast. Next week is unimpressive too.
23.5oC, but being a bit humid it felt hotter. But not hot enough to cause me to remove my tie.

14C and bright, feels cool.
very bright here, woke me up early. Now it's done that it will no doubt turn dull.
60% chance of a thunderstorm at 1500. I'll bet against those odds.
13c and cloudy here. a bit of sun maybe later, but it will be cooler than yesterday's 21c

Bit of sun, bit of cloud, bit of wind. 14C. Could be worse, and probably will be later.
Quite breezy but some blue sky now and 17c. not bad at all.

Saturday's weather was a bit odd. At times it was really warm - but then it was very windy - and not so comfortable. Now returned to the "frozen" north - really not quite frozen, but not as pleasantly warm as the south of England.

A cool feeling 12C, nice and bright though.
very bright here too. We never even got rain yesterday let alone a thunderstorm.
Today's forecast sunny and warm all day but windy, gusts up to 33 mph. Week ahead looks rubbish, cloudy, rainy and not that warm.
been wet for a while but drying up now. still 14c and bright but cloudy
I can't remember the last time we had any rain, must be over a week.
23C here - ice cream weather! :)

17C and rising, very sunny. Unfortunately, I feel chilly as I've had a summer cold for the last day or two. Always seems a daft thing to catch.
Summer colds are the worst.
Raining here, set to carry on all morning.

I’m currently on my holiday in Pals costa brava sitting next to the pool in the shade overlooking the sea, it was meant to rain at 4pm but it hasn’t, at the moment it’s 31 degrees C and not a cloud in the sky 😎😎😎😎
You're living the dream mate, it's actually a bit chilly here when the sun goes in.
too warm that for me.. enjoy your hols tho mike..
