Interest Check: Micro Seiki DQX-500*


Selling for a friend...I was going to keep it but the pills kicked in as well as reality!

Condition is pretty excellent, Direct drive beauty that cost more to buy than a Linn back in 1978. 2 owners, Ortofon Blue for cartridge.

Matey wants £600....cannot find a match for price, although there are a few across the waters, selling for more Euro's. I think £600 is a reasonable amount...

Can be seen working and playing, more than happy to audition....


I'm based in North London, near Hornsey. Posting is out of the question....

Hi Grant, yes, well observed, the tonearm alone is valued at about the £500 mark.
And yes Geoff, it's a late 70's beauty. Thank you both for responses...
I'd like to say something off topic, and that is that AOS is very lucky to have contributors like Grant and Geoff, Andylrb amongst others, that makes this Forum as dedicated and powerful as it is. Thank you for your knowledge and commitment. It is appreciated! I'm sure others feel the same too, but never get round to saying it!

An absolute bargain!

Looking at hifi shark (https://www.hifishark.com/model/micro-seiki-dqx-500), these deck can go for 2x to 5x your asking price. And that doesn't include the cartridge.

Winner is based in Glasgow, and wanted it posted. That wasn't going to happen, so he gladly cancelled the auction. Personally, I would have paid for a courier to pick up and deliver and he'd still be quids in...
I'm shocked that the market is really flat...that unit had over 300 views, 48+ watchers and only 8 bids...

It is a buyer's market at the mo, so sellers, beware!

Under the current market climate, seller is willing to take £850...which I still think is a bargain. It's being thrown back on eBlur for £900 today....

Full working order; 2 owners Rare opportunity to find this setup in the UK. Designed by Hideaki Nishikawa of Japan, who also later designed the Airforce One turntable. Headshell is fitted with the respectable Ortofon Blue, with about 40 hours on it.
