I am looking at a new phone, as my Galaxy S9 battery is starting to show signs of retirement.
One of the phones I am looking at is the Pixel 6. Does anybody have experience of it?
I have read reviews from people saying it was buggy.

I don’t want to pay for the latest and greatest. I just want a phone with a decent camera for taking snaps, using GPS and the usual e-mail and web browsing. The newest generation of phones are too expensive in my opinion, so the S22 Ultra and phones of that ilk are not on my shortlist.

ive a pixel 6. originally it was good, then an update screwed the signal side of it. but they fixed that and so far its been good. camera is good and processor seems quick. the fingerprint scanning on front screen is odd. it works really well in authentication apps like bank, electric etc, but it can be buggy just opening the phone sometimes. if you scan same finger twice it helps a lot.

Thanks Grant.
I think it boils down to the S21 FE or the Pixel 6 for me.
Samsung have too much bloatware for me liking.

think my daughter has the 21.. just got it at xmas. she seems happy enough, and its very similar bar camera stuff is at side. one thing re the pixel, its pretty heavy as its glass all round.

I bought a xiaomi redmi 10 as stop gap and it's so good I haven't bothered replacing it.

Don't know how they make them so cheaply!

I'm a former Google phone user, a 2XL that was great then Google did a software update that broke the camera, then completely ignored the issue, personally I think it was a deliberate move to get people to move on, bear in mind by that time Google were on the Pixel 5 [emoji34]

So I bought Huawei P30 pro that is excellent, then I thought I'll buy a Google 6 Pro at £45 a month, I hated it, and couldn't see where the value was, to me the Pixel 2XL was better.

So I stuck with the Huawei P30 Pro with cheap sim and sent the Google 6 Pro back, I've not been tempted to try it again even after the latest updates.

I've just bought a Huawei P30 ( non pro) for my wife and that seems pretty good too.

The P30s give full Google Play Store support. But will be too old for you, I was only using them as an example that's better for me anyway than the Google Pixel 6.

I have been doing a bit of research on this subject today.
It would appear that wireless charging, whilst using Android Auto and Waze will overheat the phone, and a simple fix is to put the phone in the Qi charging compartment upside down, and charge with a cable.

I am going to give that a go before I buy a new phone.

i recharge my pixel wirelessly and yes it does get hot, but in car its connected by wire to android auto so charges that way and not on the pad in car which i dont like. the pixels own home wireless charger is good tho

The sales were on, so I have finally bought the Pixel 6.
I am happy with it so far. However WhatsApp is struggling to restore data from my Google drive.
