Sound issue.

Hi I've just noticed a sound issue . When I'm playing a record , and turn on my cd player the sound goes quiet a little. My amp is a Sony ta fa 30es and cd player a marantz cd6005. And player is a pioneer pl 514. Any ideas. Thanks for reading.

have you tried plugging in another component in place of cd player? it might help you diagnosis

Yes - don't turn on the CD player.

Is it quieter in both channels equally or is there an imbalance between the speakers?

I'm not an expert in amps but I'm wondering if there is a slight potential drain to the CD player, whether this is by design or a fault I wouldn't know. Things I'd think of could be a slight difference in ground potential between the two components, or a dirty selector or short of some sort (but being slight it doesn't sound like it would be something that bad to me).

I've just listen again it is equal in both channels. Is there something I could use to maybe clean the pot. And see if makes it better.

No you can't hear both at same time
