This must be about the best TV series that has ever been aired imo. Oh yes, i enjoyed all the old (original) Star Trek series & i remember hiding behind the chair when that gaunt faced witch like bald thing came on with the credits  I loved Space 1999, UFO, Blakes 7 etc.. But there is & never has been anything like Lost.
I have just recently won the 6th series on fleabay & i'm champing at the bit for it to be delivered :eyebrows: Oddly the guy was selling the American version which is region free (not that this matters as i can play all regions on my BR player).
It's just that i want it & i want it now!. Looks like the guy had it in hand which is odd as it's only released today stateside & not until 13/14 September over here.
I'm sure it'll get here in a few days, the thing is i always feel like going through the whole lot again & then viewing the new season
It had better be worth it, it's the end & a big shame imo...
I'm not normally so enamored by any TV show, i just like the way this one gets you thinking & wondering - what next :eyebrows:
I'm not going to be popular with you then Mark because after watching around 6 episodes at the start of series one I thought it was the worst television ever, yet it had the potential to do much better if the scriptwriters had pulled their heads out of their backsides and tried to make entertainment out of it. I don't enjoy any TV programme that becomes hard work by keeping up with fuzzy plots, endless flashbacks, invented hard to pronounce names and intertwining sub-plots. My TV viewing is the type that needs to be gently soaked up like a sponge, not like running a marathon with an anvil tied around my neck.
Even aside from keeping up with the convoluted nonsensical plot which got worse week by week, the constantly moving camera work gave me a severe headache after just 20 minutes :(

Hi Frank, no worries fella :) We all like different things, it's what makes us individuals at the end of the day ;) Different music, different TV, different everything at the end of the day when it comes down to it...
Even though we might not agree on certain things we still have a good few things in common :)
I'm still gasping for season 6 to get here :lolsign:
Bests to you Frank :)
And you don't know the ending? :stalks:

No  I'm determined only to watch the thing with the best quality video i can get. It may be available online but take it from me i haven't even looked for it :eyebrows:
Not even what each episode of season 6 entails, i don't want to know until it gets here ;)
Don't listen, Mark. I thought it was brilliant television and loved every twisting plotted cliff-edged episode. But then I liked Alias, also by JJ Abrams.
It's up there with West Wing, Battlestar Galactica, House and Spooks as all-time great drama.

I do not watch TV, I haven,t owned one for a good while now and I don't miss it. However, I was at a freinds house a few months ago and he was watching this programme. I am going to be completely honest here and say that it looked like a complete load of crap. Wooden (over)acting, crappy script, silly storylines etc etc. I honestly can't understand how it became so popular! Having said that, there a few grown men in my office who obsess about coronation street and emmerdale farm ffs!! and that is aimed at menopausal old dears.
So, in summary, I think it is safe to say that I do not think much of it
So, the consensus is that "Lost" is a bit of a Marmite show
I loved it myself, but the first season got me hooked, then I was committed. I wanted to know it all so I kept tuning in. There's a lot of chaff in there but it was mostly good entertainment, and thought provoking too.
...and thought provoking too.
Agreed.
