What's wrong with this picture?
Has the vendor been listening to mono all the time? What will this do to the other channel?

Also he seems to have been listening to a turntable which is plugged into AUX. I presume he was happy with the sound - or is that why he is selling?

Looks like two speakers connected and you can't see the phono input. Can't see anything obviously wrong (although I do need better specs :)) .

There's binding posts for two sets of speakers but only one set is connected - to the right channel of speaker one output and the right channel of speaker 2 output. So he's got the right channel feed going to both left and right speakers. Not mono, I'm not sure what you'd call it.
The Aux appears to be connected to something in the rack that's below the amp so probably not a TT. Might go to a phono stage?
8000S doesn’t have a phono stage, so would have to assume there’s one separately connected or it is going to be very quiet!

Correct - and since the two speakers are always being fed identically, they will be in phase so the image will be centered between them, just like monophonic reproduction, save it is only the right channel.

It's like those old amps where you can select mono (blend), right or left. Perhaps he only listens to old music on mono records but he doesn't own a mono cartridge. In that case this would sound better than connecting both channels.
