View Full Version : XTZ Class A-100 D3 Integrated Amplifier
Does anyone have any experience of these? Just had a 5 globe review in Hi-fi World, and includes a decent phono stage and DAC - with Class-A and solid build quality, this Swedish beast looks an improbable bargain at £600!
I'm not really looking at changing my amp (been looking for a power amp to add to it) but this looks very tempting... http://www.audiosanctum.co.uk/Integrated-Amplifiers/XTZ-Class-A-100-D3-Integrated-Stereo-Amplifier-Black.html

Certainly seems to offer plenty for the dosh. Must be a Chinese amp in disguise.
It is very tempting though.;)
Clive uses their plate amps I think
Thanks both - I'll see what Clive thinks, then. (I don't mind it being a Chinese amp in disguise, Andy - despite the "Designed in the UK" label on my Creek it was made there, and appears none the worse for it!)
There's a thread over on the 'wam about it. Seems to get a good review...
Jason
Thanks Jason, I'll have a look.
EDIT: http://www.hifiwigwam.com/showthread.php?43956-XTZ-Desire-D-100-integrated-Amplifier.-Its-a-deal-it-s-a-steal-it-s-sale-of-the...&highlight=xtz+class+a
Found this on the AVForums (http://www.avforums.com/forums/hi-fi-systems-separates/1233355-xtz-a100-d3-anyone-heard-any-reviews.html), which looks like a similar question to the one I posed.
There's a review linked in there too from HIGHFidelity (http://www.mindaudio.de/images/produkte/class_a100_d3/test_classa100_highfidelity_english.pdf) Does look Chinese, but getting some good praise.
I'm very pleased wth my XTZ bass amps. How these relate to these full range amps I can't say.
How about the Classe up for sale at the moment?

My comment was meant in the good way and not meant to be disparaging.
There are some excellent products coming from China. This looks suspiciously like a Tin Yat design (produced by Tone Winner). I have some links at home and will look further.
Clive has a great point about the Classe I heard a few and always sounded good

I not heard this model but it should perform well
Indeed, John and Clive (thanks both) still mulling it over...
Andy I didn't think you were being disparaging, and was just emphasising the point really that even good old British firms are now having their kit made in China. Sad for our manufacturing industry let alone hi-fi, but I don't think quality suffers just because it is put together in China - sometimes, the opposite! If they use inferior components though, then I guess that is a different story...

No it isnt.
The Tin Yat (http://translate.google.com/translate?prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tonewinner.com%2Fproduct%2Finde x.asp%3FCategory_ID%3D3&sl=zh-CN&tl=en&history_state0=) looks better.
Strangely, the remotes look very similar though.
