Best mobile phone deal

I have a HTC Touch Pro on PAYG with Vodaphone and I dont think its a good phone or a good deal. The phone is a brick-very bulky and heavy and does wierd things like phoning contacts when its sitting in my pocket. So whats a good cheap small phone and whats the best deal? Should I buy the phone and get a SIM only deal? My needs are simple really- maybe 300mins and almost no texting, occasional internet use. :mental:

I got a W995 for £8 a month on T Mobile. 300 mins and unlimited net. Does me fine.

I had a Touch Diamond and completely understand where you're coming from. As a phone it was bad, and as an internet device it was horrible!

My needs are different to yours though. Lots of texting, hardly and voice, and lots of internet! I'd say you're probably well worth checking out Tesco's - they have a good range of phones, good tariffs with short contracts, and pretty good pricing. Their network is provided by O2 so it's pretty reliable, particularly for voice.

PS. I'm with Andy that a Sony looks like a good bet for you. Some of the older ones are very good, nice solid keyboards and good displays. Cheap too.
