Opinions please

My listening space has been drastically reduced in exchange for me bringing Hifi back into the house, and 'er indoors gets 'her' fireplace back, my speakers used to sit either side.
They are now in the bay window part of the open plan room in a much narrower part of it, in fact it's just 6 feet wide.
Now, here's the question, the Wharfedale Pi10's aren't the smallest standmount speaker in the world, so I was wondering if I should get something smaller?

Your opinions gratefully received as ever!

That depends what sound you're looking for! Explain why you're not happy as change for changes sake is a highway to frustration and regret.

I just plumbed in a pair of cheap Wharfedale Diamonds 9.0's in, and they actually sound rather good!

I used to be relegated to a 7 x 8 study, but had big speakers with 10" woofers and a sub. Better when played at moderate levels than a standmount IMO.

I see Richer Sounds are selling those Wharfedale Diamond 9.0 for £49. What is their tone like - warm or bright sounding?

I'd say neither, but for £49 they are ana amazing bargain.

Thanks for the replies, and I am very happy to say I have resolved my issue by replacing the Wharfedale Pi10's with a pair of Boston Acoustics A25's.

I took a drive to Westlake Audio in neighbouring Newton Abbot and listened to some small standmounters, and these sounded phenomenal, at least to my ears, and looking at 1 or 2 reviews, I'm not alone in thinking that.
Had them playing since I got back 30 minutes ago, and I'm loving them!

You don't hear much about Boston Acoustics speakers these days, but they have made some great stuff. There was a model years ago that had a 'tuning pipe' across the front, presumably intended to cancel some sort of colouration, can't recall the model number though. I remember it being described as possibly the best compact speaker in the world. I was very tempted, but unfortunately bought the Dynaudio Contour 1.3 Mk.II instead, which I ended up not liking much.
