Bought a tidy pair for 70 quid, plopped them on in place of my AN Ks..
Awesome things. Can't believe I've not come across these before. 9w driving them perfectly.

I really like the pair I have in my office system. I bought them for a fiver, and then spent a little over £100 (I think) replacing the drivers. I remember being surprised how good they were when I first replaced the main drive units. They were my main speakers for a couple of years.

I've had a soft spot for Heybrook speakers after buying a pair of Solos when I was a student. I love those at the time.

A friend of mine used a pair of Heybrook speakers (can't remember the model) and he used Heybrook's own speaker cable with them. They were called "Heywire" - boom boom! :lol:

They also did the 'Sextet' three way with the ribbon tweeter. I fancied some of them for years.

HB1 seems to be perennially popular.

I've bought them to build a system for a friend's daughter but they are just superb, even more so when you consider the cost.

I got a pair of HB2s a few years ago. I rescued them from outside a house where they were left ready to take to the dump. These are a 3 Way and the foams on the mid range had perished. When I saw them it had been raining for a couple oif days and they were looking pretty bad.

Took them all apart and cleaned them up and painted the orginal wood finish in sating black, refoamed the mids and they are a great speaker. I am using them at the moment. Nice 10" bass units give a full sound.

Streets in Chorley are always tidy as nothing goes to waste - even dog shit gets dried and used for winter fuel.

I now have a pair of HB1s.

Supposedly, they are quite a bit better with new drivers, so will look out for some.

Had a pair back in the day along with a Thorens TD 160 and a Creek 4140 amp. Bought them after a HiFi show above Bolton, the housing boom had got into it's swing and as a young self employed joiner I was making silly money
First 'proper' system, I remember they were a huge improvement over what I'd had

It's also well worth looking out for a pair of JPW AP2 or AP3. They use the same midbass driver, but with the same tweeter as used in the Snell k.

My first HiFi speakers - bought new in '85 and my brother-in-law now uses them.
Brilliant speakers then and still good now :)

Bet that was the Cleartone one at Last Drop Village - I used to enjoy that show :)
