Dear all

I have to repair or replace an LCD display on my turntable which shows how much battery charge/voltage is left (it's an amazon model one) the motor is battery powered 6V motorcycle battery

the turntable was left boxed up and whilst everything works perfectly well - the damn lcd was a bit catatonic - then displayed a few bars - now it shows nothing...

I have looked on youtube (where else) that you can remove it - clean it and possibly re-do the soldering. I can do some basic soldering but I have tendency to fry pcB's - i'm certain the LCD is replaceable but frankly the guy who made the decks is semi-retired and at best hard to get hold of.

I live in london, and would rather hand deliver the item.

CAn anyone recommend a good tech to help me out please and take on this job

thanks

Hi Lohan,

It might be worth widening your search online, for LCD repairs generally.

A few years ago i had a Pure DAB radio where the LCD gradually faded to the point where identifying stations was impossible, and I found information on repairs which if I remember correctly, involved a hair dryer and some gentle pressure.

Didn't work for me, but don't let that put you off as I'm shit at repairing things, don't have the patience.

I imagine anyone who does repairs to hifi or even computer equipment would know what to do, and probably isn't expensive. I'm sure someone on here will be able to suggest a guy local to you.
