Being of the older generation, I seem to always get confused by the layout of websites. Just because I am an IT manager does not reduce the confusion (maybe I think TOO MUCH? Yeah that must be it).

Anyway, I came to the IT world rather late in life, at the age of forty, some nineteen years ago. One of my many predictions: This internet thing will never be big among any but us geeks. Made while working for a finacial investment house that was madly buying Dell stock. Not me, nosiree.

I like many different types of music. Mostly rock, smidgeon of classical, love Andrea Bocelli, hate the three tenors (don't tell my wife). Hey does anyone here remember "I Was Kaiser Bill's Batman?"

I traded in my Radio Shack stereo system for a Technics receiver , 2 Infinity RS-325s and a Solid 8" powered sub about 15 years ago, I think. Recently, I bought a house, and I bought a Yamaha RX-V675, and four Infinity TSS-SAT800 satellite speakers (spkrs from eBay, brand new) and an Infinity CC-3 center channel from Craigslist. I have not moved in yet so I have not had the chance to set up my system. Can't wait.

Oh yeah, my name is Howard, and I live in NYC.
After writing all this I hope I am still logged in so cyberspace doesn't eat what I have written...

Thanks for that, 'fotoburger', but you've missed out your proper first name and where you come from :)

:lolsign: Hi Howard & welcome to AoS :)

It sounds like you are getting lost somewhere, just as long as it's in your own head you'll be okay :eyebrows:

On a more serious note, i hope you enjoy your stay & get your setup up & running soon ;) I'd be lost without decent music so perhaps i can see a bit of a link here

Bests to you!

Reid-
Funny thing is, I used to drive a taxi here in NYC, many years ago... Being slightly dyslexic with the streets, I managed to not be wrong too often by muttering directions under my breath to myself, which hopefully the passengers did not pick up as lunacy. This was way before cell phones and bluetooth and such - if anyone remembers/is old enough to remember.

Yes, i remember back in the day  I think you'll find most people on here can remember a time of no cell phones & pagers etc :) Must be only a third of my life ago before i saw a moblie phone :eyebrows:

Again, welcome to the forum ;)

Hey does anyone here remember "I Was Kaiser Bill's Batman?"

Whistling Jack Smith. They used to play it in the late 60's early 70's on the "CakeWalk" at the annual fair on Clapham Common, London in the good ol' U of K!

When I mention that to almost ANYONE, including people of my age, NO ONE has heard of it. I remember it from the radio when I was younger. Don't remember how young though.

Hi Howard, welcome to AoS from another technophobic IT guy!

If you are having problems with getting logged out, check (tick as we say;)) the box that says "keep me logged in" (or similar - can't remember exactly the words) [EDIT: It is the "Remember Me" box] and you shouldn't get the problem when you try and post, I hope!

Enjoy the forum.
