for sale

Ladyday+ 300b monoblocks.

5u3c rectifiers (russian)

Electro Harmonix gold 300b

I bought these not to long ago in a buying frenzy.

As per other gear i am selling, these just take up too much room in my new tiny lounge.
And the original idea of having them in the bedroom is plainly nuts.

My Jsoundlab 300b takes up less space so it stays and these go.

I haven't compared the 2, there's no point.
These have to go along with my beloved JBL L96.

These amplifiers were supplied to the previous owner as a kit which he built and used happily for several years and they are supplied with a complete set of working valves

The amplifiers have a pretty high spec and have the following features/additions beyond the standard base model:

1. Upgraded power transformers (not toroidal)

2. Upgraded chokes

3. Upgraded output transformers

4. Grid chokes on the 300B’s

5. PTFE valve holders for the rectifiers and 300B’s

6. Silver wire for the most majority of internal wiring

7. Blackgate cathode decoupling capacitors

8. Blackgate PSU smoothing caps

9. Tentlabs DC supply to the 300B’s to reduce hum

10. The 6SL7 driver valve has been reconfigured in accordance with recommendations from Thorsten to use a 10M45 CCS anode load. This is not the original SRPP circuit but could be returned to that if wanted.

Coupling caps between the driver and the 300B are silver mica (2 x 100nf in parallel in each amplifier).

The amplifiers visually are ok, but the transformer covers do have some scuffs and scratches and there are a few holes in the chassis that aren’t used (the amps arrived to me like this). To my eye they look fine to me when in a rack, but some people might not agree. I also have the original build instruction book.

The price is pretty much what i paid.

£625 collected from Eton Wick, near Windsor.

A lot of 300b loveliness for little money.
