For sale: A Unique Goldring Heavy plinth Lenco GL70 (heavy platter model).

This is a Gl70 which is the rarer and more sought after of the ‘heavy platter’ Swiss Made Idler Drive Lenco’s. Considered by some to be the best looking of the Lenco's. It should in no way be considered a standard Gl70, as it has had a significant number of upgrades carried out to it, detailed as follows.

Work carried out includes:
- removing the amplifier from the casing, and backfilling with mdf to make a very heavy mass plinth.
- additional fixings have been drilled though the chassis to enable it to be firmly secured to the top layer.
- The tonearm wires have been removed from under the platter to the underside of the plinth, and RCA fittings fitted (allowing the phono cables to be easily fitted or tested if comparing them).
- the motor, bearing and tonearm were all serviced by the previous owner, who also carried out all the work above.
- The Dynatron coat of arms was taken from the inside lid of a second lenco turntable / dynatron amplifier and custom fitted to blank over where the amplifier was removed from.
Please note though there are a couple of marks as expected with the age of the turntable (please see photo’s). Which could of course be touched up if required.

The Turntable is in generally very good condition (as expected as it has been kept under a lid) and works well. I am not however a qualified electrician, so please ensure that you are familiar with these, or have it tested.

There is a huge following of Lenco turntables at Lencoheaven.net who are supremely friendly and helpful. They also have step by step guides with photo’s for any servicing that needs doing (and which can be easily done yourself – check it out)!

Cartridge is not included.

Of course if you wanted the Lenco to be visible, the Teak lid could be removed, or changed for an acrylic one.

Price: £175 collected.
Terms:

Collection only from Nottingham NG9 (close to Junction 25, M1) as it is very very heavy!
Sold as seen, but can be auditioned and heard working if required.
Selling as I bought it as a present for my brother, but he (we) have in hindsight decided he'd be better off with a Rega!

Thank you.
PS. Will add photo's in a bit. I also have loads more photo's also, so pm me if you'd like some emailing.

Looks in great condition and at an attractive price. Ideally suited to something like a Denon DL-103 I think.

Keith is a top bloke -- I bought an Audio-Technica tonearm from him several years ago and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with.

The Lenco L70 tonearm is perfect for heavy-tracking cartridges, add something like a Shure M3D, and you will be surprised by the sound this combo can extract from the grooves. Frankly, if I could, I would snap this up myself.

Many thanks for the thumbs up Pavel.

PRICE REDUCED TO ONLY £150.

Just listed on ebay also due to low offer fees weekend, to clear.

Would rather it go to a Fishie / Wammer etc though, so if you'd like it, be quick.
Thanks.
