Back in the first lockdown, I was lured into bidding on a Garrard Lab 80 thinking I would have enough time and patience to pull it apart and fix it up.
Long story short it's sitting in a box in my study and I need to admit defeat!
I managed to get release the frozen mechanism by disassembling and cleaning the crazy Garrard set of linkages etc. There may need some work done on the arms return.
Idler rubber seems fine but I'm no expert and I did get it run at 33RPM
I have a half-decent wooden base for it too.
Still looking for the headshell but I'm sure I have it.
Anyway, if anyone wants to have a go at it you can come and pick it up in North London N10.
It's yours at no cost and a donation of any amount to a homeless charity of your choosing.
I can send pics if you want them.
