Dull here at the moment, but should get better and warmer and stay dry today. Here's hoping!
Bright start but clouds building now in preparation for the daily shower.
reached 17c. a mix od sun and cloud. not a bad sort of day tho. t shirt is fine but at least you dont burst into sweat when you do anything

Was actually rather a nice day - though got a bit cooler towards late afternoon. I wonder if we'll be lucky again tomorrow.
Glorious morning here in sunny Wrexham! 16C and not a cloud in the sky - warm enough to sit out and have breakfast, but with a nice freshness in the air. My kind of weather:)

No worries, my ideal is probably around 23/24C, but with a cool breeze. Anything much warmer, especially when accompanied by high humidity, starts to feel oppressive.

Haha, hence why I used the plural version! However, if the shorts pass the 'sniff test' (the emission of merely an aroma of mild cheddar, as opposed to a full-on pong of mature Gorgonzola) then they remain on, until the crust that subsequently forms prevents me from getting my legs in!:lol:

Variable brightness so far - could be sunnier later. Might be relatively warm today too, but perhaps rain later in the afternoon. Probably makes sense to do some work in the garden before any rain.
There's also some indoor work to do - if things turn bad.
21c small chance of rain in a bit.
sun is pretty much gone now and clouds prevail. its about 19c tho so warm enough.

If the image was simply to depict some blue skies and fluffy clouds, indicating that was the weather he was experiencing, then rest (including cricket references) is irrelevant - at least to a dimwit like me!:lol:

cricket to americans is just odd.. its slow; ie it can take days.. one side can have a score of 800. the other side 100, and its a draw :D draws themselves are very non american.. they like winners and losers:D
baseball is super-slow though and their version of football is stop-start for three hours or so.
Interesting that they are the only former colony not to play cricket. That's probably where it all went wrong for them.
Actually I suppose there's Canada too. AKA 'America junior'.

Rounders, yes, but not much, and only to play with some of the cute girlies who liked such, although volleyball was better for 'bouncies'!:eyebrows: Remember, I went to school in Scotland. so cricket there isn't exactly high on the agenda! Footy was the norm.

its played in edinburgh at some schools and in borders too. it is more popular now than in my day tho where it wasnt played much in scotland. Rugby wasn't played much outwith the borders either but some of the fancier schools like royal high etc, although we started a rugby team when i was at secondary.

Practice game and I took up a fielding position at square leg. Games master comes over to me and says 'I wouldn't stand there son, if he plays a shot and whips it around it will come right at you.'
Which I thought was odd advice since in the first place as a fielder you want to position yourself in a location which the batsman is likely to hit the ball to. In the second place the batsman was ten years old and his bat was almost as big as he was.
The chance of him 'whipping it round' and sending a power drive out to square leg was about zero. I sort of lost faith in the coaching after that.
well if you had a square leg, i guess footy was out and cricket was all you could play;)

i stopped footy after junior school as it interfered with my swimming.. in fact apart from some weightlifting on my own time, i did no sports bar swimming and just didnt go to the pt classes. No there was nothing like that went on when I was at school either, and that sort of thing doesn't stay hidden for long. 14 years of Catholic education, not a single incident. No doubt it went on some places but all blown out of proportion by people with an agenda as these things usually are.

just a tad too cold here... set my asthma off when i had to go out to shed. should have put jacket on... was a bad attack too.. just shows how your body gets used to a temp. if it doesnt improve the dreaded heating will be going on.

Sorry to hear that Grant - sounds like you might be living in the worst possible place for your health. I reckon somewhere like Tenerife might be better for you, temp doesn't really drop below 20C in the depths of winter. Property prices/rents/food and drink pretty cheap too.
I have in the past spoken to folk who've moved out to southern Europe, older folk who told me their health improved no end due to warmer less damp climate. The only things stopping most of us are family ties, and of course shit telly. Though these days the telly issues can be gotten round :)

Damp here too, it's hardly stopped raining for 72 hours now. Went out last night while it was taking a break and the humidity was through the roof. Like walking around inside a greenhouse with that unique scent of damp earth and vegetation.
Next week is forecast to be dry and reasonably sunny, although max temp will only be 18c.
for first time in a couple of months my feet are cold. had to put shoes on. they get sore when cold damp weather starts. good old scotland :doh: still august ffs

Here I can actually see most of the 3000 ft mountain quite clearly today. Some days it's completely invisible. I don't know if it's going to rain, but it's not raining now, and is fairly sunny.

Have to admit it did actually rain but he’d have had plenty of time to do the small patch of unfinished wall that needed his attention if he’d actually turned up at the promised time of 7:30 (what peed me off even more was that I’d got up at 6:30…).

I’m not holding me breath, seems to be a bit of a messer but he did make a start yesterday (put some mesh up) and has left all the materials here. I’m sure we will see him again though, we haven’t paid him anything yet.

Twice a week would be better, damps down the dust and clears the rabble off the streets for a while too.

Just been 'prettifying' the hot-tub with spangly lights for them later, sorting out a playlist of choons they like to dance to (thank goodness for streaming, lol), helped her tidy her room (yes I was honoured to get her assistance, haha), but which no doubt will be a pigsty again when I return on Sunday morning:rolleyes:
Cocktails made (although Del will have to finish them off), and two crates of Prosecco have also been left for them to guzzle, not including what her pals will bring with them (whatever dayglow-coloured shite youngsters drink), so the rest is up to them!:rave:

Yeah, the Liverpool game's the one we'll be watching, as the big one for us (Rangers vs. Celtic) is played tomorrow. We'll also probably chargrill some steaks, to soak up the beer lol, as he's got a decent sized garden, too:)
