For sale: Upgraded Technics SU-300MC and Denon HA-500 Head Amplifiers.
Need to raise some serious funds, so these are now up for sale (and no low ball offers please!)
These head amps plug into the Moving Magnet stage of an amplifier, to allow a Moving Coil cartridge (LOMC) to be used.
For Sale: Technics SU- 300MC head amplifier, battery powered and fully upgraded.
This one has been upgraded with Nichicon capacitors, lower noise transistors and metal film resistors. Work carried out by ‘Phonomac’ to Angus’s usual high standards.
This head amplifier runs of 6 Class D batteries. It has been a real pleasure not having to mess about trying to remove hum from the system due to the phono mains cable being close to the phono RCA cables etc. Those of you with plenty of MC experience will know what I am talking about!
The input impedance of this amplifier has been changed to 100ohm to better suit more modern MC cartridges, and has been working superbly with my AT-OC9 Mk2 (also for sale).
Note the unit is also a perfect aesthetic match with a Technics SP10 Mk2 power supply, in case that is of interest to you! Including the one just listed in the classifieds :rolleyes:
No batteries are included In the sale, due to courier requirement.
