I would appreciate it if any can comment on the following questions:

1. Is a 401 motor a "drop-in" replacement for a 301 motor in a stock 301 chassis? Or does the 401 motor or 301 chassis need to be modified in some way?

2. Has anyone experimented with the heavy brass platter or oversized aluminum platter, both from CTC. The former is something like 12Kg, while the latter 9.4 Kg. Does the material and/or additional inertia of the heavier brass platter make any sonic difference at all?

I appreciate any feedback on these topics. Many thanks.

Putting a 401 motor on a 301 would be tricky.

The 401 idler housing can fit to the 301 with some packing washers.

The bearing can be used as well with a little modification.
