Tonight (10.08.10) on Radio 2 at 10:00pm - "Les Paul: the Final Words of a Pioneer and Guitar Legend".
Could be claimed to have invented "rock 'n' roll", Les Paul was a maverick musician who, inter alia, invented the solid-body electric guitar (that still to this day bears his name - the Gibson 'Les Paul'), as well as numerous recording innovations: overdubbing; delay (echo); phasing, and multi-tracking.
A two part programme narrated by Duane Eddy, with contributions from BB King, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Andy Summers and Joe Bonamassa.
Includes an interview with Les Paul, recorded just before his death last August.
Miss it at your peril!
