Picked these up from someone who use to enjoy his music. Any idea what they are?

Have not tried them yet, as waiting for a cable.

They look well built but that may be deceptive. Zero branding on them except for the S type logo.

Cheers

Thanks Grant. When you say 'sennys' I guess you mean Sennheiser. I had a look at the various logos Sennheiser uses (and used) but can't find a match.

They are not Sennheiser headphones. Sennheiser's logo is different and has remained unchanged since their beginning.

Any ideas what the headphones are Barry?

I have the feeling they are either a poor quality brand made to feel good or one of those one off mass drop things.

I've scoured the web looking for a similar logo, but have turned up nothing. Can't find anything vaguely similar.

Hello Edward,

I realise my post was not particularly helpful, however I did do a cursory search for the "S-shaped" logo, but like Rob (Filterlab) couldn't find anything.

The annoying thing is I'm sure I've seen the logo before.

Same here. Frustrating.

Exactly what I thought I wonder if they're an OEM pair for a pro gear company. The yoke reminds me of Beyer and Shure to name a couple of makes.

There are quite a few in this list starting with 'S' but nothing jumps out.

Thanks guys. I too scoured the interweb as well as did the google and duckgo image matching things but came up with naught.

Maybe it is a Facebook/Twitter developed headphone to monitor what subversive podcasts I dare to listen to? :)

Well anyway the next chapter in this thrilling instalment will be the arrival of new cables so I can actually listen to the headphones. The current cable seems broken - there is no continuity on the ground. Needs a special cable (3.5mm stereo to two 3.5mm monos). Lawrence kindly found me a suitable cable the other day.

I've managed to track down the name and source of the headphones. :)

They are Studiospares M2000 Mk2 Studio Headphones: https://www.studiospares.com/studiospares-m2000-mk2-studio-headphones-448780.htm?gclid=Cj0KCQjwzYGGBhCTARIsAHdMTQzPrIH3X 7hrrb-CZ7WUp7Ud1AChTGjAuNs0LR9XWXAAD4YA5ZSnhlgaAg8yEALw_ wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Clearly they will have been made for Studiospares by someone else on an OEM basis, They get good purchaser reviews, and since they retail for £60 they ought not be too bad.

At least I can rest easy now I remembered where I saw the "S" logo.

Well done Barry, I knew I'd seen that logo as well, couldn't bring the name to mind.

Ah. Well done Barry. What were your search criteria? I did several searches and failed.

Well it took me about 5 seconds to find the make and model.

If you look at the webpage view of the post and have a Google phone you long press on the photo and choose search with Google Lens and hey presto, first photo with link is the actual headphones [emoji4]

Pretty impressive search tool, no doubt available on other Android devices

That's pretty nifty of you Barry!

Thanks very much. Also the logo makes sense now as it incorporates a double S.

Am interested in how they sound (cable still awaited) but the fact the maker concentrated on a flat response holds promise. Will compare against my Sennheiser Momentums which are On Ear Closed back.

I think you may well be correct Grant. The cradle arms on the Studiospares look very similar to some made by Beyerdynamic. For example this one (https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/studio-headphones/beyerdynamic-dt-770-pro-32-ohm-studio-headphones).

Is your email address correct in your profile?Yep it is. Get many notifications on most other threads but not all. Interestingly I do get notifications when someone quotes me - like your post above.

All very odd.

I know some others also mentioned this as an issue. Maybe there are some knobs you can twiddle on the dashboard?
