I can't get this to fit on my TD160 and looking for an M2-9/309 to go with my DP-3000 project so this is now spare.

Its an early 3009 S2 with the Split Weights, what I believe is the 'S3' early headshell, original 4-pin SME phono cable (and an additional spare) along with a mounting template, protractor, printed manual etc. I'll stick some more detailed photos up later this evening.

Purchased from Lurch last month https://www.hifiwigwam.com/forum/to...unimproved-sold/?tab=comments#comment-2747065

Looking for £375 inc UK Postage.

Hi there, out of interest could you explain why you couldn't get the arm to fit on a Thorens TD160?

Thanks in advance,
Steve

To get the cartridge to align, the arm has to be so far back in the mount the rear of the weight stub means the lid can't be used.

I see! Is this a problem with the later improved models or just this earlier version?

Just the early Non-Improved, the later ones are much shorter at the rear.

You are correct, it is an early version of the 3009/II and the undrilled headshell is indeed an S3.

A fine example. GLWS

This actually came as part of an early Garrard 401 packakge I bought in Oct 20.
The 401 had the serial # 1205 which worked out as an April 1965 build, so within the 1st 3 months of production. Crazy thing was I picked the tt + arm, plinth, Pickering cart protractor, arm & tt template, & SPG3 gauge for £1100 all in.
