Looking to try a different phonostage - ideally something valve based (e.g. Icon Audio, WAD etc) but SS fine as well (e.g. Graham Slee).

MM is fine (as I use a SUT) but if also MC so much the better.

£300 - £600

What do you have? PM please.

cheers :)

It's not valve based , but I have a Rothwell Audio Simplex and Headspace combination . Between the two you get MM and MC with variable gain and loading . Let me know if it is of any interest .

Hi Philip, thanks. The Simplex alone may be of interest but depends on condition and price (feel free to send me a PM). Was thinking something higher up the food chain but the simplex may be a good 'tide over'. But I guess you will not want to split things up. Feel free to send me a PM to discuss.

In fact I, together with a friend, have unused Rothwell Headspace and Rothwell MCL units for sale.

Maybe I have something you want for a swap? Send me a PM.

I have a Salas Valve Phono Itch (VPI) that I built as a two box unit, available for £450.

It is very good on MM, I added a Jfet MC input that works but isn't as good as the MM input.

It's valve rectified PSU.

Alan, thanks. Very interesting. I've heard great things about your VPI build. Need to consider against couple of other options coming my way.

Andrew, I sent you a PM.
