View Full Version : *Interest Check* Hi-Fi Mags: HiFi+, Hi-Fi Choice, Hi-Fi News, HFW, What Hi-FI?

Hi Guys and gals,

I've had a bit of a clear out and wanted to check if any of you would be interested in the following magazines at a very good price. The price will be open to offers, with the proceeds going to charity (via our local church), so please give as generously as you can.

Firstly, I have the following issues available of HI-FI+

Issue nos: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 30. 35. 38, 40, 41, 42, 43, 48, 50, 51, 52, 55, 56, 57,58, 60, 62, 65, 69, 74, 76.

From April 1999, through to Nov/Dec 2010. Some sample pics:

All magazines are in very good condition. Preferably, I would like these to go in one batch, but may be willing to split them, if bought in decent quantities.

Plus, as stated, I also have numerous issues of HFW, Hi-Fi Choice, HFN and What Hi-Fi?

Again, all are in very good condition (ignore the torn bits of posted notes, as they were for cataloging, and simply peel off) :)

I'd be willing to sell these mags individually and/or in smaller batches. I haven't listed exactly what I've got, but if necessary could do so for a serious buyer. You may also ask if I have specific issues, if you're looking for them to complete a collection, or whatever, and I'll check for availability.

Please either make offers/requests here or via PM, or PM me to discuss anything else. Any accepted offers will NOT include the cost of postage, which would have to be advised later, depending on the quantity bought (and therefore weight for postage). International enquiries welcome, subject to required shipping costs.

Will possibly take the lot. And collect. But don't expect too much.....I sold my 'Songlines' mags and lots of Rolling Stone mags to him (Chris Handley)

Maybe the "tightwads" here have/had a similar problem? About 12 years ago I took about 1m3 of hi-fi mags to the skip. My collection of Absolute Sound magazines I donated to Neil (once of this parish).

Since then I will only buy a mag if there are at least three items of interest to me. :eyebrows:

My wife would have a fit, if I brought those into the house, having dumped all mine a few years ago. Not bought any of the hifi mags in years. although I read a couple online.

I had stacks of What Hi-Fi?s and Hi-Fi News magazines, but I cleared them out when the Internet came out. :lol:

Always handy for reference when buying vintage gear of course.

Lol - I don't like skipping stuff that might be of use to someone... And besides. Hi-Fi+ charge £6 for back copies!!;)

I tried giving a load of mags away a while ago. Had to put them in the recycling in the end.

I've just thrown out well over a 100 Hi-Fi News, Hi-Fi Choice, Hi-Plus and a couple of others. People simply don't want the mess of the physical media anymore, apart from the odd few,(including me).
Hope yours go to a better afterlife rather than the local skip.

My next door neighbour gets one hifi mag per month (usually What Hifi), and when he's read it he brings it to me. When I've accumulated 6 months or so of mags they get binned. That's because I'm super-tidy and organised. Also I need the room for my ever-growing pile of sick/dead/surplus hifi.

Ah so I was right then about tightwads... It's ok if it's free, eh - EH??:ner:;)

As I said though, HiFi+ charge £6.00 EACH for back issues, so where are all those who buy them, and could get them here instead for a £1! :hmm:

I was talking about CDs but I do wonder how many back issues they actually sell. It might just be a few a year, but they would still keep them to retain them as assets on their balance sheet. That would save them having to recognise unsold copies as a loss.

Now sold, by my wife on Facebook, of all places!:D

Hey, at least I didn't get fook all and have to chuck them out, as for me that would've been a 'fail' [never not sold something for sale on here] and gone against the grain...:)

Anyway, I've now got space to neatly store about 300 records, which previously I simply had sitting propped up on the floor!
