NEAT Acoustics. Any users here?

I am still on the look out for a pair of speakers and spotted a pair of Momentum SX5i's in a local dealer. Has anyone experienced these speakers and if so what is your impression? Indeed are their many Neat Acoustic users here at AOS? I know that they are a UK manufactures based in the North East and the majority of their wares are quite expensive. Does anyone know if they make their drivers in house or buy them in? Your views would be helpful.:scratch:

I’ve got the Iotas, big fan. I believe they use a Peerless driver - perfect for everyday / all day listening. Got them when I was limited for space, now they are in a massive room and I haven’t got round to upgrading. Just not feeling pressed to as I’m
enjoying the music. I heard that the team at the Naim factory also use Iotas for all day background music.

Momentum’s are on my list too. Currently running with a Bel Canto amp.

I have a pair of Iota Alphas and I love them. They are a touch bass light in my room (8m x 4m) but for me that's a reasonable trade-off against their discreet size. There's a good sound stage with space around the instruments, and for acoustic music a real sense of the environment in which the recording was made. Build quality is good, and the cabinets have absolutely no resonance even at high volumes.

I upgraded from Neat Motives to my current Ultimatum XLSs, and I can't see any reason to change from here. They do everything I need and look good, too.
I was given a tour of the factory by Bob when I picked them up. He was testing a pair of tiny Iotas in a very large open space just as they were being introduced to market, and I was amazed at how they filled out the room. He took me through the manufacturing and testing process and showed me round the in-house recording studio.
Neat are the kind of business I enjoy buying from. A class act.

The XLSs were eye-wateringly expensive for me, but I got a great trade in price on the Motives and had an 18 month interest free credit card to assist.
I also justified it as a buy that would be a Keeper, and that's proved true.

I was very nervous about the possibility that they wouldn't suit my system or would prove underwhelming, but a rep delivered a pair to my door for a loan.

At the time I think I had a Croft 25 pre and 7 amps. I firstly upgraded the amps to R7s, then last year the pre to 25RS and the speakers are really showing their capabilities now.
I'm pretty confident that any system upgrade affordable to me would be well within the limits of the XLSs.

£5kish sounds right. I couldn't afford the Neat stands and Bob Neat advised a suitable alternative brand at half the price.
I'm fairly sure I got almost all my money back on the Motives to offset the amount above.

Back on thread - Neat are a great company to deal with - brilliant back up service - however I do have some ANEs if the OP is interested- and I wil be travelling to the North East very soon :)

I have Momentum SX5i and they are terrific speakers.
Took a while to run-in properly.
They clearly reveal changes in setup and deliver a musical event beautifully.
A step up from Motive range which already are superb.

I believe now discontinued so possible bargains.

I have Motive 2's. Since my mancave is a converted garage, BIG speakers are just not possible. So it was a case of biggest and best I could get that sound great. I listened to various makes and felt that the Motives were neutral sounding that accurately refelcted what was on the record without adding any 'sound' of their own. So I took a punt and they have been brilliant. I have heard speakers costing thousands more sound worse.
So I recommend anyone to give Neat's a listen, at least.
