I must have been asleep - there have been rumbles of these new products from Quad for a bit.

A replacement for the Quad 99 - I have Quad 77!

This may explain why the recent 909's seem to have been downgraded with inferior parts and giving more noise and distortion, according to many posters on the yahoo Quad site..

Introducing a new range with supposedly improved specifications and sound when compared to a partly slugged previous range is a bit "off," don't you think?

I'm not saying the 77 and 99 series can't be refreshed, as the 77 goes back to the mid 90's when all's said and done, but I sincerely hope the components used will be more than good enough to fully exploit the designs!
