Hello .

Do you have a NAIM shoebox amp that needs a new case to make it look like new again? Do you want to put that homemade DAC into a NAIM style case to match the rest of your equipment?

I have the answer:-

Its taken 18 months to get these made but the results are perfect.

Any questions then PM or:

Nice looking case ;) You just reminded me i need to find some kind of smart metal case to house 30 x AA NiMh batteries & holders as well as space for a mains charger for the batteries.

All this to power a phono pre-amp :lolsign:

Needs must :) Not much sucsess so far i'll admit

Good luck with your sales :)

How about something like this?

I have used some of those cases and they are very good indeed.

The one above is also cheaper if you get the smaller one. :):)

Finding suitable Cases is something which causes a lot of us diyers problems especially over here

Yes agreed Leo.Perhaps Dave C could look into that on the resurrection of WD.A range of nice chassis at a good price could be a good seller.

I'd have thought they would sell like hotcakes if these things became available especially if the price is right

Looking at that case has given me an idea.

Seeing as most Beresford DAC's are getting modded beyond recognition and if the passive mod is done then the volume pot and headphone socket are superfluous. Then you would only need to align the connectors on the real panel to retain functionality. You could also use a slightly deeper box and have space for a linear PSU as well.

If Stanly could (graciously) supply the CNC file for the rear panel then a batch could be done at a favourable discount. The 230 x 230 x 80mm case with 10mm front panel is €39.50. You could probably get a machined case for about £50 if we bought 10 of them.

Or is this a silly idea?:)

Very nice Andy ;) I think i'll have to invest in one, but put the phono pre amp in it & put the batteries & charger in the case i already have. That's just too nice for a set of batteries :eyebrows: Or perhaps i should buy two & have matching cases, hmmm

Thanks for the thumbs up Andrew :)

True, however i'd need to make a front & back & figure out how to hold it all together neatly
