Cost of plinths

Guys, hello! I'd like to do a little market research. We are in the middle of producing our own hand made solid wood plinths. But I'd like a little feedback so I wondered if you could answer three questions which would help us out!

1. What wood would like a plinth to be made from?
2. What price would for a hand built plinth should be?
3. What price would you pay for a plinth kit?

Surely the cost depends on the construction of the plinth. A Martin Bastin style scalloped out plinth will cost a lot more in both material and labour than a simple plinth having four sides, a top, and a base.

solid wood one is expensive but a standard nice plinth for a thorens is about 200 or so all in usually

I didn't need one, but still made one, and I'm very glad I did...

the last plinth i had made about 2 months ago, the one before that was last year both were solid oak both cost £180

I would love to have a French polished solid wood plinth (Cocobolo or Rosewood) but are they stable enough? I have only ever owned acrylic or particle board decks.

Thanks again guys. I'm looking into producing retro plinths as well but from solid wood rather than particle board. I've already done a heavy goldring Lenco plinth for a customer
