You should make the effort to go there. Truly wonderful place. its even worth suffering an economy flight to provide you with more spending money when you get there. Not that you need much, because everything seems so much cheaper anyway.

Must go again soon. :)

I loved eating at the little market stalls. Good food and a pint of beer for a couple of quid.

I was at the Show all day and didn't bump into Tim at all...

Anyway, another two more days of the show to go :-)

Already placed an order for Eastern Electric's Sabre-DAC chip, 12AU7 tube-output (tube-rolling galore! :eyebrows:) MiniMax DAC which a friend of mine will pick up for me in November; apparently there's quite a long waiting list for it due to the scarcity of the Sabre chip being snapped up by manufacturers who are only starting to catch on to it's advantages etc. Most units have already been booked for export to the US and Europe, which are snapping them up as soon as they arrive...

I'll be posting some pictures taken at the show soon ;)

Regards,

Malek

p.s. Food's great here but my dietary restrictions keep me from indulging in the majority of them

Hmmm... now how do I convert multi-megapixel pics to comply with a 19.5kb upload limit...

Store them on photobucket, where they can be resized to the parameters you select.

Successfully uploaded some pix to photobucket :)

What next? Do I compress the pix and upload to the forum or do I hotlink it to this thread? Speaking of which, I'm still clueless as to what I just said

There's a detailed tutorial on how to do this - you can find a link to it here:

O Grand Wazoo!! :pat: YOU are hereby Knighted in the Imperial Court of Sloth for your Outstanding Contributions to AoSoundom! :chainsaw:

Oops! :stalks: His Imperial Slothness couldn't be bothered to look for His Ceremonial Rapier :uhho:

But seriously...

Eastern Electric's new pre-amp, debuting at the show, feeling sadly left out, on the left as I had my heart set that day on an affordable DAC with multiple digital inputs with a variable vacuum tube output for direct connection to my upcoming Karan Acoustics Stereo Power Amp :o

Note the volume control dial on the left and the digital source select dial on the right, free of additional remote control circuitry that might mar the sound quality with unwanted "electromagnetic smog"... :smoking:

BEHOLD!!! the Belly of the BEAST! user-replaceable 12AU7 Vacuum Tube spotted on the upper right hand corner of the target's guts...

Tube-rolling GALORE!! :mex:

PS It doesn't hurt either that it's equipped with the Sabre "complete DAC module on a chip"; currently the rage, if Wavelength Audio and the latest Audiolab CD8200 series etc are any good indication...

... as I'm on a (long) waiting list; ordered and paid for in full...

I was able to cut the queue at the show though; so instead of three months, I only have to wait one and the half months :eyebrows:

Patience is in order though, as I still have to wait for a friend of mine to fly off to Hong Kong again to pick it up for me from the local agent i.e. Hit Audio
