Clearing some of my projects.
This is a Magnavox 8802 'console' amplifier. It runs 6V6s in push pull for about 7 watts per channel.
This is a popular console for modification to a stylish and very nice sounding Stereo Amplifier.
There are many web pages devoted to refurbing and or updating these. Just search ''Magnavox 8802''.
I have only done very basic work so far.
I've cleaned the chassis, swapped out the original leaky coupling caps, to establish it all works. It does.
I've fitted 4mm binding posts for the speaker connections and fitted an on / off switch.
My intention was to modify this one to use Russian 6H2n-EB / 6H2p-EV in place of the original 6EU7 and re-configure the phase splitter as designed by David Gillespie.
NOTE 1: This is a USA derived amplifier and runs off 117volt mains. A step down transformer is required for UK 240 volt mains operation. No mains plug is included to remind you not to 'plug it in'.
NOTE 2: This is an unfinished project, it will require further work to make it safe and reliable.
Asking £55 delivered as in the first 5 pictures or
£70 delivered with additionally 4 x Russian 6V6s and 2 x Russian 6H2n-EBs in picture 6.
