Linear Power Supply

Hi I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction.

I am building (more like re-assembling) an AUDIOPHONICS RaspDAC I-Sabre ES9028Q2M - Streamer (https://www.audiophonics.fr/en/network-audio-players-raspdac/audiophonics-raspdac-i-sabre-es9028q2m-streamer-raspberry-pi-3-dac-p-12315.html) into a new box with the Allo Kali included and I wanted to build in an internal PSU (transformer and PS Module).

I was all set to order from Audiophonics but see they have a minimum order value of €160 to the UK and was hoping I could find similar components in the UK but it does not seem to be that easy or I'm looking in the wrong places?

Im looking for something like this

No I need a minimum 2.5A so this looks fine.

I was looking for an assembled module but reading the Velleman instructions they are quite helpful so will give it a go.

I built a linear PSU for my pi based box. It wa rather simple LT1085-5 the 5 v model more or less followed the component guide off the LT application note, in front a reasonable sized frame transformer (I prefer them for low level components) a bridge (discrete diodes) and an resistor capacitor circuit. It does to me sound better than a switching supply. You can get all the components fro RS but there is a minimum spend to ger free postage. I got an adaptor of the auction site to provide a USB out. Note mine runs well with a 1.5 amp regulator but I am only running a digital output board.

Plenty of circuits on the web about increasing the regulator output just a transistor or moss-fet and a couple of resistor and an heat sink is all you need

It can be done point to point quite easily

I would not worry about the free postage from RS once you get the few bits and pieces needed you be way above the minimum spend
