Acoustic Alchemy revisited

Whilst recently being a little pissed off with my system I rediscovered the delights of the Acoustic Alchemy album 'This Way'. For those that do not know, Acoustic Alchemy are a serious chillout/jazz based band comprising two acoustic guitars, drums, synths and various saxes, the latter played by Snake Davis. My favourite stand out track is track ten, 'Egg' which has a rather nice groove based around an odd time signature. This music is displayed very nicely by my system which appears to make the most of this kind of music. Played in an evening with no lights the stereo effect is a real pleasure and the ambience of this album is a delight.

I now have around eight albums by Acoustic Alchemy all of which are on CD, the main for that being that this is chillout music and I do not want to be wound up by surface noise; the idea being to chillout however, I feel that this music is just better suited to CD. If you are looking for some serious relaxtion from your music, give Acoustic Alchemy a spin.

I saw them playing at The Band On The Wall in Manchester, many, many moons ago.

Anything by Antonio Forcione (who was one half of Acoustic Mania) also comes very highly recommended.

Alex, this is a little less laid back than Dancing Fantasy and a little more jazzy but still very approachable. I absolutely love the stuff that Acoustic Alchemy have done especially 'Natural Elements'. I also love the music of Zero 7 which is just such good chillout music with the lights off. Totally different to Acoustic Alchemy but just as good.

Zero 7 are one of my all-time favourite Chill-out groups, and have led me to many other artists via their collaborations and other projects. Love 'em - so Audio Alchemy will be a welcome listen - cheers again.
