I had a pre-order for a PS5 upon release which didn’t arrive, so I bought a “built” gaming PC instead.
Then to my annoyance the PS5 arrived, but was quickly sold for a modest profit.
I promised myself that I wouldn’t get the Hifi bug with upgrading everything, but PC’s don’t differentiate from Hifi in that they’re both money pits, especially when it comes to PC driven VR head sets and the like.

Sadly ultra high graphics cards are unobtainium at the moment, unless one wants to spend £2K+ on one, which I don't, so I'll just have to wait.
That said, I'm enjoying the experience, which to be fair is half the fun :D

Wow, that looks like a killer bit of kit you've got there Jon. Hope it is getting a lot of use :)

Welcome back Jon, you seem to have been a long time absent. That set up looks like it'll keep you busy till you can get out on the bike again :)

Thanks, and yes, it gets a LOT of use either gaming or to power the VR headset.
The multiple lights are akin to car racing stripes, the more you have the faster it goes :D
Trust me Steve, when this fucking lockdown ends I’ll be touring the UK on the bike with friends, I simply cannot wait!

LOVE the Pacman lamp Jon!
Crackin' looking Rig Sir.

Are you on Overclockers UK forums btw?

PC Gamer here too, though less so seeing the magic "4K/60 with Raytracing" getting real close with Consoles.
Had an O/C 5GHz rig with 1080Ti which was enough for me, but sat at a desk all day at work so the appeal wore off when I got home.
Still use the PC for 3D stuff.
Sold the 1080Ti on and put the proceeds towards a PS5.
Was able to plumb back in the old Nvidia GTX970 which let me play the PC games I liked to play still, and could stream them to the telly via Nvidia Shield.

Managed to get a PS5 at a non-criminal price, have to say 4K/60 gaming on the big telly is pretty sweet.
Some upscaled PS4 exclusives are fantastic games...and no blue screens or driver updates!

Not as yet, but will join as the wealth of knowledge on there is 2nd to none.
I did get my 4K curved monitor from OC and the service was great.

Agreed, the PS5 does look good, but I’ve been a console gamer since the Megadrive and wanted a bit more flexibility, hence why I sold my PS5 before Christmas.
Also getting games from CDkeys is so so much cheaper, and I play at least 2 games a month, so its a no brainer really.
But the main reason for getting the rig was Cyberpunk (I run an RTX3060Ti founders edition) and Half life Alyx for my VR headset, and both run flawlessly.
If you haven’t played HLA, do try it, it’s absolutely mind blowing!
