Looking to source a pair of oak floor standing speakers. Preferably oak. Small Spendor would be perfect but open to all suggestions and ideas. Thanks

Thanks for your reply. Budget is up to £750ish. Those look lovely but couldn’t see a location and I would need delivery to east of England.

Hi Steven,

Can I suggest that you have a look at my ad for the IPL M1Tlm's on page 6. Granted they are in walnut rather than oak but they are a delightful pair of speakers- well I would say that wouldn't I since I made them! And they are in Cambridge..........

Richard.

Thank you. They look terrific and I’m sure they sound brilliant. Sadly, I have to stick to my oak remit and my £750 budget. Good luck with the sale; somebody is in for a treat.

Bump up. Spendor S5e or similar would be good.

I’ll get some pics up in a bit once I’ve taken some and pulled them out from the corner but they are the same finish and model as these: - http://tvhf.blogspot.com/2013/01/ruark-crusader-ii-speakers.html?m=1

They’re good but not upto my ns1000m and rel subs or apogee caliper signatures so currently not required. They were more an itch I’ve wanted to scratch for years.

Quite “analogue” sounding with a lovely mid and smooth top end.

I’d suggest they concentrate more on smooth bass with plenty of extension than a rich and meaty bass. That may be as I’m using them in a 24ft room and they may fair better in a smaller room.
