Looking for a pair of speakers to partner with my A60 amp - thinking of Heybrook, RAM, Kef, Royd, Arcam etc. The only reason I don't mention Epos is I already have a pair of ES11s on duty with my naim boxes.

Standmounts in wood finish preferred, plus option for courier delivery to Oxted, Surrey.

Gentlemen, the floor is yours...

Depending on what size you're after I'd go with a pair of Kef Reference 104ab's on lowish stands they sound and look great with an A60.

Edit: unless you want something that sounds like your Naim/Epos system, these will be rather different!

Spendor BC1/ Rogers Export Monitor. Works well with A60.

Kef 104 / Spendor BC1 - way too big for my purposes I'm afraid!

If you like the classic KEF sound, you won't beat a pair of Corellis for their size.

There's a nice pair on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1976-KEF-Corelli-SP-1051-Speakers-With-Box-and-Papers/133660019810?hash=item1f1ec20c62:g:57wAAOSwjGVgIzm D

I have owned Corellis and loved the sound.

There's a problem with the one shown to the right, the Plastiflex cone coating is lifting away. Not uncommon.

Ah yes must confess I didn't get that far with the pictures.

It's an issue with some older KEFs, the Cadenza was occasionally similarly afflicted. It can be fixed, but it means stripping all the old coating off both bass drivers and re-doing it. A right pain and you can't use plain PVA.

Yes seen it before, even on Linn Sara's. Has also affected every pair of vintage Goodman's I think I've seen.

KEF Corelli are not bad (I have two pairs), but in my view the Tangent RS2, are better. They use an Audax Bextrene bass unit instead of the B200, both the Corelli and the RS2 use the KEF T27 tweeter. Trouble is, RS2's don't pop up that often. To me the KEF Chorale are just too quacky in the midrange, the Corelli is a bit better in this respect.

If BC1 and KEF 104 are too big, how about B&W DM4, same tweeters as BC1.

I have a pair of KEF 103 ref in Teak, which are probably too big - but would sound superb. Or, a pair of Tangent XLR2. Infinite baffle and of the same era as the A60.

What's more... I'm just down the road near Sevenoaks and you'd be welcome to borrow one or both pairs if they sound interesting.

A few years ago I had a mint pair of exactly the same Kef Chorales - the body is relatively shallow, which makes them ridiculously fast speakers. Lord only knows why I sold them!
