Get a top spec Hattor mini and be done with it. Remarkable for anything like the money. And the switchable 9dB Active stage can be quite a blessing, too.

Well, both are true. I’ve got one, but it’s not mine. It’s Robert Airey’s (Open Door). I’ve had it on loan while my Trilogy is being upgraded. And the Hattor is extremely impressive. I never thought I’d like any Passive other than maybe a posh MFA Baby Ref because people always seem to like the idea of them in theory but then get frustrated with their lack of ‘something’ (big subject!) in practice. But the Hattor I have enjoyed a lot. Quite an education in fact.
