Jolida Mk2 mega valve dac
Great dac in stock form but here taken another level.
Due to the size of the upgrades components, this dac has to be on stilts which is wrapped in Iroko hardwood.
Upgrades :)
1) Output tubes are the uber rare Raytheon CK5755 Reliability Controlled types (yellow label) and coated in Audio Magic Black Out Paint (prevents tube interaction and cancels EMI / RF).
2) Audio Magic Black Out Paint on the dac board chips and capacitors.
3) Output capacitors now Miflex Copper in Oil types. No output wiring as capacitors are connected straight from output board to RCA’s.
4) All RCA jacks now silver plated types.
5) Digital coax input now true 75 ohm.
6) IEC input gold plated with Wilbrand fuse which has a silver element and ceramic beads for mechanical stability.
7) All power supply capacitors upgraded to a mix of Audio Note Keisai and Standard, Nichicon, Audyn and Panasonic. Some jumper clips removed and hard soldered.
8) Voltage regulators now NewClassD (this is a big sonic upgrade).
9) Upgraded feet.
With all the above - yes it is a great sounding dac. Analogue, dynamic and musical :)
Due to the weight of the upgrades and in particular the output caps (pure copper film), posting this out is a risk. So if interested please PM me to make alternate arrangements that will be Covid safe.
