The best Class-D amplifiers use switching MOSFETs from the mid-00s at relatively modest switching frequencies so improvements in FETs probably wont make too much difference aside from possibly efficiency.

I got the impression that the mosfets were replaced with gan transistor that switched much quicker which in turn gave a performance jump.
