Thank you for adding me. I am Dutch, and currently live in London, although I travel much for my work in Events both Live Entertainment and Sport events.
I ve had a Cyrus 5.1 system for years with a 5.1 pre, a good CD player, multiple amps and PSXR's combined with a KEF Ref 1 L+R speakers Kef mid and rears and 2 REL subwoofers.
As I am 60+ with much time spent close to PA systems my HF hearing is pretty much gone.... So to me a magnificently clear midrange with solid bass (punchy but clear) is important.
For a few years I ve survived in the UK on 2 Apple HomePods in stereo but it is time to upgrade. So I am actively contemplating a Prima Luna EVO integrated amp as the centre, with some good speakers. My set before the KEFs were JBL 4311B monitors, so this time I am brewing about Tekton Electron SE with a yet to be defined DAC/Streamer possibly Auralic with a 2TB hard drive within.
Happy to hear comments about my line of thought.
I ve not decided on anything yet, not bought anything. I am also possibly relocating within the UK so I will have an opportunity to make the living room sonically acceptable, the start of any good system! I will be a combination of soft furnishings and some acoustic panels, probably home made. As I also enjoy photography I am brewing of some panels covered with textile photo prints and a ceiling contraption so the missus will remain happy.
My music roots were String Driven Thing, a Glaswegian band with solo violin, the song Heartfeeder opened my ears during a visit to a Geneva (Suisse) discotheque in the seventies. If you like heart wrenching music I recommend the song, but it's not an easy listen, available on youtube. Regrettably Chris, the bandleader died a few years ago.
Some of my longterm favourites are Willy DeVille live in Berlin (acoustic) , Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Lee Hooker, Ella Fitzgerald, and Bruce Springsteen (up till the death of Clarence). That said I have a broad music palette.... I still have good friends amongst excellent Dutch artists such as Mell & Vintage Future (check her voice on youtube!) and Rob Winter a fab Dutch guitar player.
